I had great church experiences at ZION BAPTIST in PORTSMOUTH from 1958-1962.
My pastor was Rev. Wilson. He encouraged me to do a CHILDREN SERMON each Sunday before he delivered his adult message.......I did this for 3 years.........WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!
MRS. WADE and MRS. HUGHES and Mrs. Roberts were my favorite public school teachers that assisted me greatly in my spiritual growth at the church.
I participated in many church pageants over the years......I played every bibical characters that you can name.
EMMA and SHIRLEY, LADIES I MET IN SARATOGA later joined us at ZION. They were relatives of Mrs. HUGHES.
I LOVED ZION BAPTIST CHURCH....It was home for me...I lived in the apartment building , across the street from the church(510 1/2 Green Street)
