With recent evidence showing that the Earth hasnt warmed like enviromentalist have warned,is global warming a fear tactic of the past. The new buzz word is "climate change" because its vague and harder to lock down to any specific pattern. So now every time the weather "changes" enviromentalist will persucute us for being the evil Earth rapers they believe us to be.

There ya go heathen-let the games begin!

Well let me see, about 6 or 7 years ago we were going back to the ice age according to the far left go green beans, then it was global warming and now it is climate change, next it will be we cause this to happen and have from the begining of time. Has anyone noticed the earth has steadily changed from before man until now?

What gets me is that Al Gore won a Nobel Peace Prize over a wonderful Polish lady, Irena Sendler, who saved hundreds of Jewish babies and re-united them with their parents. (Look up "Life in a Jar"). All because of his global warming book. Incredible!!!!!

For me I just figure the Earth is recycling itself. What is above water now, will be below some day. Who knows in 10,000 years Hawaii may be another continent. Volcano's produce more land, while water eats it away.

Yeah the funny thing, there was a recent AP report that there are glaciers in the US and across the world that are actually GROWING, and the "environmentalists" say there are too many to really keep track of to see if they really are shrinking or not. But the point is if they are shrinking, who is to blame?? Can we sue God?

It would be ridiculous to not think that the Earth goes through cyclic weather patterns, this has been proven. It is equally ridiculous to think that we haven't had an impact on the environment and to an extent the weather patterns. Mankind has changed at least 50% of the the land masses, some have it as high as 80%. No other species has done this before. According to the cycle we should be going down in temp, not up. What's the common denominator? Us.

Even a scientist that is downplaying global warming admits that the temps are rising, but not at an alarming rate and that there are more pressing issues to be dealt with first. Can't disagree with him on the more pressing issue stand, but when would be a good time to start doing something about it? When it's too late? Why can't we look past our own noses or past our own great-grandchildren?

I'm actually more concerned with pollution than with global warming. Global warming we can adapt to, but what happens when there isn't enough plant life left to counter the extra CO2 we are producing? The problem won't be too much CO2, but not enough O2

Here's a few web links to start with to see where I get some of my info. Some I have read in depth, some I've skimmed through because they have basically the same info.

All-in-all if you want to know the bottom line you have to follow the money trail. The vast majority of scientists, groups, and organizations that poo-poo global warming are financed by big business, especially oil companies, that by meeting proposed environment standards would cut into their profit margin.

Wood-cutter the last couple of statements on my thread were uncalled for. This is how you have a civil discussion or debate? Seems that we can't agree on that term either. I have more important things to do sometimes other than sit on this blogsite, obviously you don't.

Some of the things I said were THINGS YOU SAID TO ME I JUST TURNED THEM BACK ON YOU!LOL Your funny! I thik Mr calm, condesending and collected is a bit miffed!LMAOIf you dont like being talked down to or have your assertions delt with in a condesending manner I suggest you clean up your act!

BTW: You wanted the new thread for global warming. I suusmed it was because you had volumes of infromation in support of the "theory". I guess I wasted blog space.
Should I start a thread on "Pollution"? Or can we debate thet here?

purdy: NO the report says ONE glacier, the Glacier on Mt Shasta has Grown.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,378144,00.html

Read it yourself, and go slow so you actualy understand what it says.

But here is a sumary: Every other glacier in the world is shrinking most by well over half except the seven tounges of the Mt Shasta Glacier.

As far as pollution goes I think we have done an excellent job of cleaning up our messes and researching new technologies to keep the Earth cleaner. I dont believe we are in a crisis.

WARNING SLIGHT SUBJECT CHANGE FOLLOWS!

I think the real issue is that enviromentalist blow things out of proportion not so much out of fear of REAL enviromental concern they do beleieve in enviromental concern, they do beleiev in enviromentalism but they use these fear tactics to attack capitalism and try to hurt businesses by demonizing them and exaggerating the actual situations. I spend a lot of time in the woods and have traveled all over the country. I dont see that we have a lack of forrest or woldlife, quite the contrary. Also if you live in the country you know first hand how mother nature can overtake your property in one summer if left unchecked. Mother nature is resilient . i dont know many of you watched the documentary about what would happen if humans died off and what would happen after? Anyway-long story short, after 150 years there would be little evidence we existed except for our concrete structures that would be completely overgrown and used as home for a variety of animals. Im a conservationist! I love nature and act resonsibly. I do not however buy into anti-capitalist fear tactics that are promoted by "enviromentalist."

I've written more than one blog on this subject. I'm with wood-cutter. I am more concerned with pollution than I am with warming. The planet's weather cycles, hot, warm, cold, warm, hot. Dry, wet, moderate, wet, dry. Our seasons are short cycles within the larger cycles. We have had ice ages in the past and we will have them again. Ditto tropical periods. The next thing you know the enviornmentalists will bring up the bugaboo of "continental drift" and want to anchor the continents so they will stop drifting. Maybe they could take up the cause of sunspot activiity and advocate putting a shield up around the globe to protect us from sunspot activity and ionizing radiation. It goes on and on and they continue to attempt to control us through fear.

Nigardsbreen Glacier
Hardangerjøkulen Glacier
Hansebreen Glacier
Jostefonn Glacier
Engabreen glacier (The Engabreen glacier
is the second largest glacier in Norway. It is a
part (a glacial tongue) of the Svartisen glacier,
which has steadily increased in mass since the
1960s when heavier winter precipitation set in.)

Norway's glaciers growing at record pace. The face of the Briksdal glacier, an off-shoot of the largest glacier in Norway and mainland Europe, is growing by an average 7.2 inches (18 centimeters) per day. (From the Norwegian daily Bergens Tidende.) See http://www.sepp.org/controv/afp.html

GREENLAND See Greenland Icecap Growing Thicker
Greenland glacier advancing 7.2 miles per year! The BBC recently ran
a documentary, The Big Chill, saying that we could be on the verge of an ice
age. Britain could be heading towards an Alaskan-type climate within a decade,
say scientists, because the Gulf Stream is being gradually cut off. The Gulf
Stream keeps temperatures unusually high for such a northerly latitude.
One of Greenland’s largest glaciers has already doubled its rate of advance,
moving forward at the rate of 12 kilometers (7.2 miles) per year. To see a

NEW ZEALAND
All 48 glaciers in the Southern Alps have grown during the past year.
The growth is at the head of the glaciers, high in the mountains, where they
gained more ice than they lost. Noticeable growth should be seen at the
foot of the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers within two to three years.(27 May 2003)
