After ive read all the reactions from everyone I have a million thoughts in my head so forgive me if I ramble a bit.

The point I am trying to speak to is difference in mindset of the average liberal vs the average conservative. Ive already made very clear how I feel about how some in my party have reacted to the election results. If you look to THOSE comments you will see that they are mostly new peoepl or people that dont comments often. As the day wore on I saw the "usual gang"(reasonedright,flyovermark,gemini,2minikids,people
Im now forgetting lol and a couple new ,i assume republicans)come on here and express themselves in a very thoughtful manner. All were very graceful and reasonable in defeat.

I have see the same from the oposition but few and far between. The comments that werent overt childish gloating, were along the lines of "now we can have unity"finally.

Although I agree with that sentiment wholeheartedly,I cant erase my memory of what has been going on in the "past eight years".The first point i want to make is that you guys(the oposition)had the chance to still be Americans eight and four years ago but YOU chose to be divisive. You chose to call OUR President an idiot,a criminal,a war monger,a liar and wouldnt even CONSIDER giving him credit for his successes but were all too eager to pounce on his failings EVEN IF THE FACTS DIDNT SUPPORT YOUR CLAIMS!Now you want "unity".HmmmmmWhat exactly IS "unity" to you guys?.....Forget our conservative principles that more often than not have been to guide to sucess in our nation? Adopt your liberal principles such as throwing more and more dollars at problems while we have to turn a blind eye to the fact that it HAS DONE NO GOOD FOR THE PAST 60 YEARS?you guys have a lot of nerve to speak of "unity".

This brings me to my second point. I started to go into the difference of the philosophies of our two parties but Im learning that there is little point. As yesterday and ,oh SO many days before the election, prove,Liberals LOVE to come on here and comment when it seems appropriate to point to racism ,"war mongering",you know, generally spew liberal talking points and acuse conservatives of things that arent true and can be Proven false, the SAME EMPTY TACTIC THAT HAS SLOWLY PUSHED THIS COUNTRY TO THE LEFT SINCE THE REJECTS OF THE SIXTIES OVERTHREW THE DEMOCRAT PARTY AND GAINED POSITIONS OF POWER IN THIS COUNTRY.They could not have acheived this level of success if it had not been for a liberal media and liberal"entertainment" as a whole. When the evening news tells you EVERY night that Bush is an idiot and they ONLY play comments out of context to support thier claim, when kids grow up watching movies that Always cast the businessman as an evil person bent on destroying the enviroment or music glorifies ghetto life and turns the criminal in to a hero or victim how do we expect the sheeple to know anything different. The ONE news station that is truly unbiased has been marginalized as 'right wing" because they give you the unbiased facts.Thats what they dont like about fox,the FACTS dont support the FALSE reality that LIBERALISM FAILS US!The funny thing is,all these people that hate fox-NEVER WATCH IT! They rely on the other media sources that they are used to TELL them that fox is biased.I recently had a debate with our resident Professor, profplumb about fox.i could tell by his comments that he had never tuned in and when I gave him fact upon fact about thier ratings and bi-partisan format he simply said"he didnt believe me".This is a professor! An "educated" man that was totally unwilling to see for himself but was content believeing what Tom Brokaw and Keith Olberman TOLD him.

Back to the bloggers: Every single time the debate gets to the ACTUAL history of our country-a history that undeniably supports that liberalism has failed us miserably,or the FACTS,the facts the show you have to disconnect from reality to believe liberalism works or world history that ,oh so elequently, points out the failings on many countries that allowed themselves to succumb to liberalism......the liberal bloggers are gone! no more debate beyond ,"your obviously a racist", "your a greedy capitalist pig", or "you just want war so you can have more oil"   etc.....etc.....

I implore you......Please .....wake up!....educate yourself! turn off the evening news! Train your eye to spot liberal indoctrination in ALL media forms. You liberals worry about capitalist taking your freedom in the form of "keeping" you in abject poverty",killing the enviroment etc when you are in alliance with the true enemy. They are smart, they are cunning and they are stealing your freedom while your eye is on the wrong ball!Who sells fear to promote thier political philosophy? I know most of you will say-the evil republicans with the war on terror.Your wrong! The war on terror IS VERY REAL but its not a war we started!

The fear of capitalism, the fear for the enviroment(which is just another anti-capitalist tactic),the fear of the black man "if we dont stop keeping him down, the fear  of sexism, the fear of homophobia, the fear of poverty, the fear of "no health insurance", the list goes on

Conservatives sell FREEDOM.Wake up! this is 2008.We have the most freedom and oportunity to find sucess than any other people, past or present! it doesnt matter if your black, white, male ,female poor ,rich immigrant or national....the door is open. You HAVE oportunity. The country has seen to that! We cant expect that it guarantee your sucess but all men like Dr Martin Luther King ever wanted, was for the door to be open.Dont buy into the fear tactics of the left.Dont believe that we are a flawed nation that puts invisible obstacles in front of "certain" people to keep them down! This is the worst FEAR tactic in the world. When you chase success, you will find many failures before you suceed.Dont let them tell you its because your black or female or whatever they will try to sell you so you give up and look to THEM(the liberal wing of our government )for help. Im white,Ill admit that I probably learned this reality sooner than others may because when I found my failures in life....and I have!.......who did I have to blame? Im supposed to be the ELITE the one that doesnt need help! The deck is stacked in MY FAVOR!.....yeah right! I took hard work and dicipline! BOTTOM LINE! Work hard! Work Smart! never stop believing in your self and good things will come! But if you give up and when your disheartened you hear that its not your fault-its the evil white capitalist-you have a choice.Pich YOURSELF up or let the government fix it for you.

Has the GOVERNMENT EVER,EVER FIXED ANYTHING?   You know the answer to that.

"Has the GOVERNMENT EVER,EVER FIXED ANYTHING?" - wood-cutter

I'm with you WC. I've asked the same question numerous times thoughout this election. And to your point of never giving up, I have to concede that it seems a large number of our citizens have; thus their "belief" "hope" and "promise" of a new beginning. I often wonder if these people invest or choose a spouse in this manner... lol. Hey, she's got a great personality and I "believe" she will lose weight; has "promising" looks if she get's her teeth fixed and "hopefully" will buy some new cloths!!!
One day they are calling us idiots, and he next they want us all to hold hands and sing Kumbaya.
We may never know, but I wonder if they would be singing the same tune if McCain had won?
Even they know the answer to that.

LMAO! Great comparison!

Hell no they wouldnt talk of unity or chastise the members of thier party for unfair lies about the Winning Republican canidate.look at what they did to Bush the last eight years! Like I said, they had the media fueling thier fire so they dont even think they are wrong.Liberal=good anyone else just doesnt think about things properly.Debate? Hell no-they dont need to present facts or explain thier reasoning-we just have to trust them that they are the enlightened ones!

Well said w-c, when I immigrated to the U.S.A, I had to sign a contract that stated that I would not, and could not be eligible for ANY social programs for the first 10 years of my residence here. I had nothing to fall back on (except family) if I didn't make it for myself. Were there hard times? yes! I started out with less than $1000.00 in my pocket and 2 1/2 out of the past 8 years were spent living with the in-laws - we paid them a moderate amount for rent (enough to cover our "share" of the expenses) and my wife and I busted our butts to make something of ourselves. Knowing that you can't depend on the government for anything more than a tax bill is pretty good incentive to work your way out of poverty!

Reason I am glad to see that you and your family came to this country and made it. And did I mention did it the right way. Not begging or expecting like most. I think it's wonderful. Now a days they head right to SRS for hand outs and trust me the immigrants get all of the hand outs they possibly could ever want and them some. That is what burns me considering the government thinks 7.00 an hour is too much money to apply for assistance. That is why we have our own people starving in this country and it is very very sad.

Very well said Wood-Cutter. It seems like a majority of the media is very liberal. Knowing the history of what has been going on in the government and doing research to find out the true facts is consuming but well worth my peace of mind. You just never know what to believe at times.

Ok, I am obviously biased with regards to Bush... but you can't blame the Liberals for his failures. That is utter and complete nonsense. He did that to himself. His Administration has failed. This has more to do with his inability to articulate what needs to be done, or his inability to actually reach across the aisle and work with the other side.

The only way anything will get done in Government is people sit down and work out compromises. Both sides must do this, or it won't work. I don't hate Bush. But I don't respect him. He lost that respect with his blatant lies about wire-tapping and WMD's. His reason to war with Iraq was flawed and proven false. His inability to manage the war as Commander and Chief also lost said respect.

He was and still is in charge of the lives of our soldiers and he sent them to war unprepared and with no "exit" strategy. This is failure.

Sorry, had to get that out of my system.

As to Conservatives vs. Liberals. Both sides want what they think is best for this country. The real problem is that the extreme radicals on both sides have been the stronger influence within both parties, and temperance and moderation have not.

Republicans failed because they allow the "far right christian" element to control their platform. The far left will never accept that. Most moderates don't want those hotbed social issues to be the focus, because focusing on those things takes away from the important issues. Liberals and Conservatives alike have moral values... but using them in politics pretty much makes them null and void. As seen in this election.

If you look at the Center for a minute, you will see many ideas that are similar, and could easily be worked on.

1. Comprehensive Immigration reform
2. Energy policy and energy independence
3. Border and port security
4. Education
5. Health care and social security
6. Welfare reform
7. Reducing Federal spending and making government more efficient.

All these things could easily be accomplished if the radicals in both parties would sit down, shut up, and work together in to find a compromise.

Is this wishful thinking... perhaps. But Bush was not a uniter, he was a divider.... I think that President Elect Obama has proven he can unite people on all sides... I hope and pray he can as President.

I should also point out... WC... you make a good point... but roughly 50% of this country doesn't agree with Conservatives, just as 50% dosen't agree with Liberals....

ferbet: are you willing to admit that now that your out from under the ether of Obamas victory that "landslide" was a total misrepresentation of the election outcome?I dont care if you are or not I just want to point out that 53& to 47% is not a "landslide".Really, were you drunk wednesday?LOL

BUSH LIED

BUSH LIED,BUSH LIED.You would have to believe that thousands of people, that had NOTHING to do with Bushs White House, were in unison in this "LIE".You also have to believe that Saddam Hussein is a man whos character is above reproach!

These are the guys that want Obama to get a fair shake now that hes elected!

Let me ask you ferbet-Would it be FAIR if I just decided to treat Obama EXACTLY as you treated BUSH? Will you accept THAT as fair?

Was Hans Blix(cheif weapons inspector in Iraq)LYING when he said weeks before we invaded that he saw no evidence to support that Saddam had stopped his programs for WMD?Are you REALLY willing to REWRITE the timeline of history to support your dislike for a particular politician?Thats EXACTLY what your doing!

Rimsfeld took heat for saying"you dont go to war with the military you want, you go to war with the military you have".Sorry to all you pussyfoot liberals out there but he was right! the most important fact you miss in that is that because of the anti-military stance of the modern left,BILL CLINTON left us vulnerable and our military in shambles afte he cut military spending by a third and deplyed troops more than any other President in HISTORY!How do you explain that FERBET?Should we have allowed al-quieda to continue to attack us and Saddam know he could attack sovereign nations, fire at our planes in the no-fly zone, train terrorist in camps in Iraq, put contracts on ex-presidents lives and openly call for the destruction of America with out retaliating? Even if Clinton DID severly hamper our ability to protect ourselves as a nation? could this be a factor in the original strategy in Iraq. Were we forced to have a "light footprint" because Clinton depleted our military resources and was asleep at the wheel regarding terrorism?

You want to act like Saddam was just minding his own business and one day Bush LIED and decided to attack him!Saddam Hussein is yet another victim of the mean old American conservatives!

Give me an example of how the religious right influenced Bush policies? What the hell are you talking about?

Did the religious right have a hand in the California gay marriage ammendment that failed this week?MOST AMERICANS are agianst for a number of reasons! Not the least of which is the homosexuals ALWAYS crying foul, when they enjoy more freedom than anywhere on earth. But lest say thats a legitimate issue for you to say the religious right has a stranglehold on the republican party..................................................
.I mean is that the BEST you can do to back up your assertion? 80% of Americans call themselves christian-That would mean that 40% or better of the democrat party are christian too.......Do they have a stranglehold on you guys? That just a 40 year old liberal takling point/fear tactic that doesnt hold water anymore!weve had this descussion before and if I remeber correctly, you backed off this insane assertion!Try to remeber what youve learned and leave it out of future arguments.I know Im ranting at you ferbet, but let me be clear.Your disingenuous arguments make me sick!you try to sound so reasoned and centrist but you are nothing more than a typical partisan liberal.i see though your crap everytime you post it and I call you on it!

Just like yesterday, you posted somwher about how you felt Obama would be a centrist now that he was elected.......WHATEVER!He told us he intends to implement liberal policies, his record is the MOST LIBERAL IN THE senate and he hangs around with extremist liberals! What is it exactly that makes you think hes going to do anything contrary to what hes done in the past?
If you truly were objective and had the ability to understand modern American politics you would have voted for Mccain! he WAS THE ONLY CENTRIST in this race! Stop the BS-Be who you are and be proud of it! Your just another liberal! Stand up and be counted!Quit trying to act like a centrist because you think the lurkers will see your virtuous "moderate" proposals and come under the democrats tent! i dont buy it and will call you on it everytime you spread it!

If any of you missed my point........FERBET IS UNABASHEDLY LIBERAL AND WILL VOTE DEMOCRAT NOMATTER WHAT THE CANIDATE SAYS EVEN IF HE DISAGREES WITH IT.HE NOWS SAYS HE WANTS A CENTRIST THAT CAN REACH OUT TO THE OTHER SIDE BUT YET HE CAMPAIGNED AND VOTED FOR OBAMA.OBAMAS RECORD IS 100% ALONG LIBERAL LINES.mCCAIN VOTED AGAINST HIS PARTY 10% OF THE TIME AND HAS CO-SPONSORED SEVERAL BI-PARTISAN BILLS.bUT NONE THE LESS FERBET SEES OBAMA AS THE "CENTRIST".I UNDERSTAND IS HARD TO RECONSILE THAT LOGICE BUT ITS HIS LOGIC,NONE THE LESS!

Ok I feel better now!

Wood-cutter- I am going to try and hit all points in your blog only.

I do have to agree with now Democrats won the Presidency they are talking of unity. Did this ever occur to anyone prior? I do find it hypocritical. Had the congress actually worked with the President perhaps a lot of our problems wouldn't be so bad at this point. Party lines are increasingly polarized and I for one am SICK of it. It is more polarized now more than any other time in history. We are all Americans and should work together not against each other. It is only my opinion here to be truly a balanced government but I do not feel there should ever be a Dem Pres and a almost fillabuster Congress. I may not have liked Bush but I also feel he has knowledge of a lot things for National Security reasons we do not and he acted in what he felt best for our country. I hate anyone who states he went to Iraq over oil. sorry rambling...

Perhaps the reason there were a lot fewer people not gloating or being gracious in victory as the repubs is there are far fewer dems on this site... just a thought.

Now on to Fox News. I watch the Fox Channel on cable and have found it to be a very fair channel. I love it. I actually like Bill O'Reilly. (s/p) However I would like to ask respectfully how does Liberlism always fail us?

A quote by you... no more debate beyond ,"your obviously a racist", "your a greedy capitalist pig", or "you just want war so you can have more oil" etc.....etc.....

Who on here said these things?

I also believe the enviroment needs to be protected. Such as pollutants in rivers and other such things. I do not find it a scare tactic but a matter of fact. The global warming issue is debatable but there are other issues at hand with enviromental policies.

One more thing, simply because someone has a differing opinion does not mean they are uneducated.

wood-cutter read my blog view my photos

Bs: Global warming is a scare tactic.Bottom line! As you said it is very debatable but if you listen to Al Gore and the dems-that part of the discussion is over because they said so! if you disagree you are an idiot.(O'rielly makes that point all the time). We have thousands of enviromental laws that have done a good job of keeping our water and air clean-bt see, thats not enough for them because it doesnt force these evil capitalist out of business with enough penalties, fines or compliance expenses. So they come up with glabal warming as another more punitive strategy to attack capitalist.

Bs: I cant believe you havent seen the "standard" responses to criticisms of Obama before and after the campaign.Maybe one or two will debate but most run and hide when the Facts dont support thier assertions-just look around, youll see it VERY common.I definately happens more often than not. Also you can go my or reasoned or flyovermarks blog and see the many times we post with FACTS and they are totally ignored. We always address liberal post head on.

When it copmes to most of the talking points spewed by the liberals on here,it does in fcat show that they are not educated as to whats REALLY happened or how our country actually works. You dont mean to assert that the American public has a firm grasp on American politics today? Do you?Look at all the "on the street" surveys that are hillarious to watch but VERY disheartening when you consider how oblivious our population actually is.Do you think over 15% can name the vice Pres or speaker of the house.Did you watch the Howard Stern video of blacks being asked about support for Obama but they asked using Mccains Platform...100% of them were for staying in Iraq and they all agreed that Sarah Palin would make a great VP under Obama!LOL

Im sorry ,I know it sounds mean but Id rather be truthful than facilitate political ignorance! We have a responsibility to educate ourselves and I for one am tired of history being rewritten because the media is decidedly liberal and the populace is definately politcally stupid!Dont be an enabler because you feel we have to allow these poeple thier voice even if they dont have a grasp on the facts or only listen to talkings points.political correctness has stifled honest debate in this country and I am tired of it.Too much that needs to be dealt with is off the table.

Why cant we question someones character? Why cant we say"hey thats not right!"?Why cant we tell people, after they prove it with thier obviously uneducated statments that they dont belong in the debate because they have proven they dont have a grasp?Character matters!Knowledge when you have a vote to cast that affects this country matters!we have become FAR too accomodating of ignorance and it has weakened our country.
