3 bodies dead in the street over the last two evenings in the KCMO midtown area.   Around 105 murders for the year in KC for the year.   Not much prevention by the police, and by this I mean randomly stopping citizens walking, driving down those very streets.  Granted it's dangerous work and they ALL have guns.  But what else to do?  Clean up the carnage?

Makes you want to go to Westport or the super safe P&L district, where shootings are at a minimum, and have no chance of leaking over from the rest of the city.

The total is 106
and randomly stopping people walking and driving when you havent witnessed and illegal action is against the constitution.

Searching is very correct! I honestly think it is because they are over-worked and under-staffed (the police). And, you won't catch me dead...(lol)...in Westport but I will go to P&L any day!

The targets for the most part (I realize there are plenty of innocent) are NOT innocent by-standers and I am sure that they are a rival gang member or someone told a "your mama is so fat" joke.

Legalize drugs. The gangs won't be able to afford bullets, nor will they have anything to fight over.

Let me ask the ultimate question before anyone starts screaming that the authorities are not doing their job.
How many of them were involved in something shanty that could have provoked a bullet ? How many other then the 11 year old was just an innocent by stander ? There is always more objectives into an incident then most realize or then the media and authorities will release at that time. I do not recall any comments about any of them being a result of a possible robbery attempt. So maybe we can rule that one out.
Next question: Why was the victims that were found in the street at such we hours of the morning not at their homes ?

People file complaints against us when we have the legal right to stop and search them. You think I'm going to risk my job to randomly stop people? It's easy to put it on the police but we're not the problem. We want to do our jobs effectively, but with no backing from our chief and the judges releasing people right and left, it makes our job even more impossible. Write city hall and ask why the violent felons we arrest are back on our streets so quick. Another problem is our chase policy. Write our chief and ask him why he does'nt let us do our job. We're beat and our morale is low. The thugs run the streets, not us.

Back when I went to the academy one of my instructors was an ex-Dallas cop who had two different partners killed. His recommendation, "better to be tried by twelve, than carried by six."

As far as moving to the country, DON'T!!! I'm tired of all the idiots we already have moving out of the city to avoid the problems. All they end up doing is bring thier problems with them, and getting a bigger dog! Don't worry, we'll keep on making our regular visits bringing you all of the homemade jams/jellies, baked goods, and fresh produce you want, and we'll even let you come out and buy a pumpkin or some cider and comment on how "quaint" and "peaceful" it is in the country. Just keep your attitudes and problems in the city and leave us country "bumpkins" alone. Remember, I keep a shotgun behind the door, and the dog might bite!

trucker. LOL. I was told about a guy who had a sign as you entered his property. " These premises are protected by a 12 gauge shotgun 5 days a week. Do you really want to try and guess what days they aren't. "

Mensa eligible, (140+), but chose to use actions, not member card to prove it. I remember being told, "You are being paid, not for having brains, but for using them".
The common denominator here is guns.
As long as the violence is mainly in the black community, no one is overly concerned.
I am a gun owner, but support registration as a way to get at these guns in the hands of kids, gangs, thugs, and nerdowells.

Killings will continue as long as those who know who is guilty keep their mouths shut. They are afraid they will be next to catch a bullet. Please don't move to the country. It isn't what it used to be either.

As long as they keep it in the city it's fine by me.If it does come to the country we'll let the good ol boys handle it.You let a few rednecks loose in the city and we'll put a major dent in the problem.

rosco that sign was at a car junk yard and the guy had a group of big A-- security dogs, I guess when his 12 guage shotgun was off duty, it had little problems.

three more bodies,10/18, this time in KCK, in conjunction with a car wreck and shooting, and a bunch of people stabbed at 14th and Kansas Ave.

Incredible death and destruction.
