A US Airways jet on its way from New York's LaGuardia Airport to Charlotte, N.C., made an emergency landing in the icy-cold Hudson River on Thursday afternoon. Early reports indicated that all of the 150 passengers and five crewmembers onboard Flight 1549 were evacuated safely.

New York Gov. David Patterson called it a "Miracle on the Hudson."

The plane took off at 3:26 p.m. and went down minutes later, according to a Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman. The Airbus A320 landed in the river near 48th Street in Manhattan.

National Air Traffic Controllers Union spokesman Doug Church said a US Airways pilot reported a "double bird strike" less than 60 seconds after takeoff. The plane reportedly planned to make an emergency landing at the airport in Teterboro, N.J., but instead headed for the Hudson River.

The FAA spokeswoman, Laura Brown, said the plane may have been hit by birds, but the cause of the crash has not yet been determined. At an evening news conference, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the National Transportation Safety Board plans to investigate the cause of the accident.

Passengers reported hearing bang or thud-like sounds from the engines. Almost immediately after the apparent failure of both engines, the pilot told passengers to "brace for impact."

Pilot C.B. "Sully" Sullenberger, who is being hailed as a hero, was able to glide the plane into the water. Passengers said the emergency exits were opened quickly, and many people were able to scramble onto the wing and into life rafts. Others were able to walk directly onto ferries that had swarmed around the wreck and quickly became rescue boats. One ferry boat captain reportedly rescued at lease 30 passengers.

A relatively small number of passengers were forced into the frigid water, but they too were quickly rescued.

Several passengers were taken to local hospitals, where some were treated for hypothermia.

Bill Clinton and the Pope both died on the same day. Due to a minor clerical error, the Pope went to Hell, while Clinton went to Heaven. When the Pope arrived in Hell, everyone realized the mistake. Due to an issue with the union, they couldn't swap the two until the next day, and the Pope had to spend the night in Hell, while Clinton spent the night in Heaven.The next day the paperwork got straighted out. On his way up to Heaven, the Pope ran into Clinton. Clinton asked the Pope "How was your night in Hell?""Very educational." responded the Pope. "I've learned a lot from the experience, but now I'm glad I'm going to heaven. I've been waiting all my life to meet the Virgin Mary.""Sorry," said Clinton, "You should have been there yesterday."

my grandaughter thinks that i can turn the tv on and off with my cell phone, and change channels... but its really a flip remote, lol.. but who am i to tell her that... well i got some pay back the other day when i went to the store and i was going to use my phone to call someone in the store parking lot.. well i looked all over an thought i brought it along, but it was no where to be found,...so i gave up and went into the store and when i came out i set the bag on the seat, and thought what the hell is my tv remote doing in the car, lol... yeah, ya know the rest, duhhhh, i took the remote instead of my phone..

on mondays my son always asks " whats for dinner tonite, mom"..since i'm off work.. sooooo today was like every other. i ask him what he wanted and he said beef tips over noodles and applesauce and peas.. so i made him it and took it to his house.. but before i made the gravey in the beef tips, i took a few out for me and boiled some tators and looked in the frig to see what i could throw in with it, broccoli, califlower and carrots, ok, so i made something i dont know what it is but added some butter and its yummy...oh and why ya ask didnt i keep some beef tips for myself.. cause its my favorite meal, and i wouldnt have had any to take to the kids, so thought i would make something else, here it is..well, here it was, lol, yeah had an early dinner. oh this is minus the butter and ton of pepper..

hummmmm seems like everytime i go near st charles my car automaticlly takes the 5th street exit, right down to ameristar... oh well





it was a good days work for 4 hours... thanks God, oh and thanks to my rav 4 too.

oooo, its that time again to name your favorite christmas song

omg, i was channel surfing and came across the  lawrance welk show... wow, my parents love that show and with not  alot to do in winter we had to sit and watch it to when we were lil, lol...hes wearing a pink sports jacket, mabe its light baige omg... im really telling my age... now a lil boy is singing "all i want for christmas is my two front teeth. the guy playing the piano is wearing a red suit.. even the lil kdis have brill cream on their hair with a deep side part.   wow for some reason i can see my parents smile... they are singing joy to the world now, i love that song.. mabe i will shock myself and listen to the rest just because of the memories.
