Hello and Happy Thanksgiving. As you might have noticed, I'm not big on blogging, but I am big on doing what I can to help people. And I did a story airing tonight that I think might do just that. We're coming up on the MU-KU game. Arguably not as big as last year, but we have a special we're airing tonight to get fans on both sides of the border ready for kick-off.

Last year, it was all about fan spirit, which is always fun. Especially when you're pitted against John Holt to push the MU spirit! But this year, my story for the special is on a different note altogether. Its about one MU fan's struggle with cancer. As soon as I heard about this story, it pulled at my heartstrings. Unfortunately, we do a lot of stories about viewers fighting for their lives. They are hard stories to do, for the families and for us. But when you can draw attention to a type of cancer and its warning signs or how a community came together to help a family, I feel like those are the emotional stories worth doing, especially around the holidays.

I heard about Stephanie Vest's fight with cancer through a friend of a friend. She's the mother of three with a brand new baby girl, Gracie. When Grace was 9 weeks old, she realized she had these sore, red bumps on her legs. She went to her doctor, who sent her to the Mayo Clinic for a diagnosis. Turns out, she has a rare form of skin cancer. Doctors didnt expect her to make it. She's been there 12 weeks now, away from her two boys Cole and Zach who are in Kansas City and away from her newborn baby...who is now 5 months old! From what I've heard, shes been through more than a few scary moments. Her friends and family have been told to prepare themselves for her passing on several occasions. And Stephanie has fought through it all.

The story for me was not only about her family, but about her neighbors, her church, her school groups, her college friends...all the people in her community who are helping Stephanie and her husband Eric make it through this tough time. If you'd like to learn more about their story, the website is www.stephanievest.com You can also see my piece on the MU-KU Armageddon Sports Special at 9:30pm. I hope you enjoy it.

I'm on a quest. And as far as importance, it's up there on my priority list. Oh yes, the search for what will be my favorite restaurant in KC.

I have heard from a number of reliable sources, and some not so reliable :) that KC has great food. I'm the new kid in town, so I've got to seek out this city's culinary gems. And for the record, I'm staying away from the chains.

I know the bbq here is unmatched, but I'm looking for the triple threat: great seafood, great appetizers and great desserts..at a decent price.

So--slowly I'm starting what should be a great and fattening time. Trying my list of restaurant suggestions one-by-one. Wish me luck. I hope I am somewhere near the same pants size when I finally find the menu I'm looking for.

Hi. I wanted to officially introduce myself. My name is Megan Cloherty and I'm lucky to be joining the Fox 4 News team as a reporter.

I'm just starting to settle down and get my bearings. I found a great place to live and am really enjoying exploring the city, though I must admit, I am getting lost a little more than I'd like. I figure in about a year, I'll shake my head knowing I was lost on a main drag.

For the past two years, I was a reporter in Medford, Oregon. I made sure when I was there to visit all the tourist attractions and say I 'did' Oregon right. Crater Lake National Park was the highlight of the list.

I went to Mizzou, so I had an idea of what I was in for coming to the midwest in January. I was bracing myself again for a bitterly cold season, but so far its been really mild. I could get used to this!

I look forward to getting out into the community and meeting the people that make Kansas City so great. I already know I'll love living here.
