There was a story on the noon news today, it seems a girl working at a Lowe's back east was fired because she was wearing a button that said "It's called Christmas, for Christ's sake".

I emailed them and told them it's a good reason to start shopping at Home Depot.

Shame on Lowe's.

I'm wondering if this was a decision made by an idiot store manager. On the FOCUS ON THE FAMILY Christian radio show, they said that Lowes was one of the Merry Christmas stores that people should shop at. I'm hoping that the corporate leaders fire the manager and hire this woman back.

I'm not trying to second guess management, but when that particular phrase is used so often in a profane way, it could have been seen as that by the manager involved. If that is the case, an apology and rehire is definitely in order, along with a talk with the manager involved.

I am only guessing but most employers do not allow their employees to wear any kind of statement. It is usually against their policy for very good reasons.

Woman at Lowes Gets Fired For wearing a Pin that said "Its Called Christmas, for Christ sake"
This is just more of the political correctness crap, I`ve heard this type of story every year now for a decade, Some Retail Stores, And Others say they don`t want to lose business by offending Someone, they tell clerks to say Happy Holidays not Merry Christmas, That phrase and the word God/ Jesus will soon be outlawed or considered fowl language.!

We Celebrate one day a year for our belief, as other Religions Do, But they are not being band from their Slogans, or Formal Greetings, the end times truly are near, 2nd Timothy 2 22-26 ..is happening now and has been.

I Think All Christians should stop in at your local Lowes Store, get the Manager and tell him to his face, Im A Christian.. That now shops at Home depot, And By The Way Merry Christmas, You Just Fired a Customer... It will send a message.

It seems to me If a store is worried about offending someone and losing Business, they should cater to the 86% that say Merry Christmas this time of year.!..I know the Bible says to forgive and forget and so on.. but it also says He Who Denies Me Will Also Be Denied To The Father, If we let ourselves get walked on and do or say nothing, Is`ent that a form of Denying our Position our Belief, Risking our Acceptance to the Father. Do I have time For God, Yes I will Stop at Lowes, and Im also sending this out Via E-Mail

Unfortunately, Home Depot would have probably taken the same action under similar circumstances. Don't expect anything less than political correctness from corporate America. They are all scared to death of the ACLU, the most subversive organization in our nation history since the Communist Party.

WOW I am going to start shopping at Lowes. I will also be emailing them to let them know I appreciate what they did.

azbob- You honestly live in the past man. I am willing to bet you are 50 or just near it. Most people do not care if you call christmas or happy holidays.

If you do not like it find somewhere else to shop.

It is common for a work place to have dress codes. Work is not a place to promote superstition. If a muslim was promoting his/her religion at work, I am sure you would feel differently about it.

Just because Christmas was stolen from the Pagans and renamed does not take away from the real reason for the season.

I would have fired her also. It is better to lose a few hypocrite Christains customers over letting them intimidate them into changing dress policy.

Why should Christains be allowed to break the rules?

The real pity in all this is Lowe's is so big that they don't care about public opinion. Gone are the days when your neighborhood business actually cared what their customers thought.

azbob- See my name? I have supported homeless shelters and so has my gf and her parents. Will we give it to say a Catholic Church charity? No. Why support people who defend those within their church who " are very friendly" with boys?

I also am more for people learning instead of getting handouts. Tell me something bob. If a employee at Lowes wore a pin that said "God--might as well pray to a baseball bat" would you and your other magic believing friends defend free speech?

Its only free speech when it benefits you or people like you. If it does not you want nothing to do with it and instead call foul when its something you do not like.

eww did I push a button Fireman..yeah I see your self centered Name. is that supose to mean something?.. glad to hear you say you give.! at least that`s one. But I will agree about the Catholic church, they are appalling to me as well, that does not how ever reflect on Christians, and that`s not to say all Christians are angels either. In My Book America The Beautiful I Include research on the Catholic Church. And it is very shameful

In one report in the US their was Accusations against 4,392 priests. And the Christian Brothers in Canada there was more then 300 former pupils that were physically and sexually abused at the mount Cashel Orphanage in Newfoundland which led to a 23 million dollar settlement.

I write this because I don`t want you to think I don`t know of the Evils in the Catholic Church. And some others. And just because you might be a Fireman does`ent mean you have anything on me, you really think you are something don`t you, well surprise your are no better then anyone else.

And hand outs, well Im Glade to know that those children and hungry homeless “Learned” that some people do care, and don`t need gratitude or Held high because they wear a uniform..and As for another one of your Childish Analogies “God- Might as well talk to a baseball bat” that don’t bother me none, free speech is what you and AG cant understand.

Look at both of your post`s, That is true dis-regard for free Speech. Like I said In my Blog you Atheist make a fool out of yourselves every time you open your mouth. I see I brought the true color out in you, what a joke you turned out to be.

AZBOB:
AZBOB deletes people trying to defend themselves from his lies and attacks on his blogs. He has proven nothing except what a coward he is. He is a poor role model, even for the religious right.

Nobody has the right to free speech when they are on the clock.

These charities only give a portion back for what they receive. Its the people who donate, thriftstores, rightoffs and social service grants(illegal)that make these gifts possible.

I am also emailing Lowes to thank them for doing whats right and not giving in to this hypocrite zealots.

If the greedy republican agenda to widen the gap between the rich and poor wasn't working so well, we wouldn't have such a great need for handouts.

AG- I agree. If we are going to allow free speech on pins at work from one group then we have to allow it from others. But bob does not see it that way. For example if the pin said something that offended bob or his other followers he would be all over for the termination of that person.

However if its something that is in pushing what they believe then its fine. Its if the shoe fits.

BTW bob I am not angry. My mom and dad are christians but you know something? They do not push their beliefs on others. They do not vote people in office who will do good for their church but instead vote on who will do good for the country. Its called respect.

As for the handouts my point was that I have seen church groups claim that humans and dinosaurs lived together at the end of the Jurrasic period.

Religion itself is outragous to begin with as I have stated. The problem is when you begin brainwashing people and children for sure with ideas that have no proof to back them.

We need seperation of not only church and state but also fact and faith. Faith is not fact. I can prove all of Isac Newton laws of gravity. Can you prove the existance of "god" or "gods" depending on your religion?

We need our kids to learn so they can succeed and make this country and world better instead of getting handouts. That was my point.
