WASHINGTON (CNN) -- More than 170 people around the globe, including at least 61 in the United States, have been arrested in a major operation targeting international child pornographers, officials said Friday.

So far, Operation Joint Hammer has rescued 11 girls in the United States, ages 3 to 13, who were sexually abused by child pornography producers, U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey and representatives of the European Union said at the Justice Department Friday.

Dozens more were located in Europe, including several young female victims in Ukraine.

Authorities found connections between producers, distributors and customers in nearly 30 countries as a single investigation grew to a global inquiry into the dark corners of brutality and child abuse.



Why in the world do these PIGS harm children? This is just ONE sign our world is going to hell in a handbag. SICK,SICK minds!!!  What kind of parents bred these people? Girls from ages 3-yes, 3! to 13....Poor babies lives are destroyed before they even know what 1+1 is.

They would still have fingers! The only thing for them is death.Or serious time kind of like mandatory drug laws it is a shame when a child molester gets less time than a dope peddler.That crie is unthinkable and those people will allways be a threat to other innocent children they need public execution stoned by CHILDREN till death cures them.

cu-you're right is is unthinkable and the punishment should be much more severe than the castration I mentioned. something torturous just as that is what they are doing to these babies.....makes my stomach turn to think of the hurt and torture being forced on a baby

Good post damoze. I suppose we all know it's going on, but it needs to be kept in the public light until they're gone. I agree with all the punishments you and the others have suggested. Perhaps a combination of public hanging by the nuts and stoning by the children would be appropriate. They certainly don't deserve the chance to do it again.

thanks Hang-I know this is just the very tip of the iceberg but Man oh Man it makes me sick! We wonder why we have so many messed up people in this world, we don't have a clue what happened in their childhood. The scary thing is these babies grow up so messed up and they themselves try to be normal and have kids, but can't rid themselves of the dis-function so it circles round & round......

this is so sad and disturbing. i can't fathom what these people are thinking nor do i want to try to imagine what they think in their sick minds. one thing that some people try to forget when saying castrate them and such is that women are involved in stuff like this to. i don't know how or why (they were probably molested as well) but they should all be stoned to death. like in the old days we can just throw rocks at them and they can have a horrible long death!!! this is a serious question can people with these charges get the death penalty? i don't see why not and think they should even though that's getting them off easy. but can they? because you know prison isn't much of a punishment since people like this are protected from other inmates. i saw let em loose and they'll get justice another way in jail!!!! the way jails protect them makes me sick!

miss-I should have mentioned women too-you are right there are plenty of women involved in these activities. None of them deserve to live.

Oh yeah, in response to your last couple sentences, for sure they will get what they deserve in prison, those hard cores (even though they may have murdered someone) HATE child molesters. They would just as soon kill them as to look at them.

the problem is and i know this from watching way to many prison shows on a&e is that they have different areas for these people and they are separated from the main prison population. so people that commit crimes against children like this don't have to go face to face with others. they shower at different times (sometimes privately) and aren't in the yard at the same time because they are being protected. it's crazy! they committed the crime if they get beat up, raped, or killed in jail so be it they should not be protected. the children they violated had nobody around to protect them so they need to fend for themselves in my opinion!!!!
