I am not sure if I caught all of this new flash.  From my understanding Paul Morrison had an affair that he admits too with Linda Carter.  This affair started way before Paul decided to leave his attorney general position.   He later gained information from Lina about Phil Kline when Phil took office.  From what I have read and heard she is charging him with sexual harassment.  Why?  Did they are did they not have this affair consensually.  He bought her an expensive engagement ring.  They both talked about leaving their spouses and getting married.  Where is the harassment?  Have I missed something?

Wow...so do you also think there is no such thing as marital rape?
I don't care how many times you say yes. If the answer becomes no repetively and you don't leave it alone, it can become harrasment.
I don't know the facts of the case...but I am saddened by the number of people who have posted here and elsewhere that it "couldn't possibly be harrasment".

Hello....LindalouH, did you not see that I said this was from my understanding and that I am obviously not sure if I have all the facts. If there is more to the story then please share. I didn't read anything yet that indicated there was any refusal to them having sex. If there was, then the news either hasn't reported that or I missed it. I placed this post to hopefully get more information that what I have.

Sometimes in print it is hard to get any tone we might normally get through a normal converstaion. The series of questions came accross as sarcastic to me...and perhaps it was because the blog I read prior to yours. I meant no offense. But I stand by my point ...even if YOU don't need to hear it!

Holly COW! mpvan...I read the article. Man I missed more than just a bit of that story huh. What and eye opener. They are predicting impeachment or at least talk about it.

I can't help but feel sorry for his family. I hope the press leaves them out of it.

Thanks to all blogers...this is why I blog we keep each other in tone. : ) Sorry if some wording in my blog hard to define.

It's sexual harrasmant when he tells her that he doesn't want to marry her.

What she is accusing him of is that he "forced" information from her regarding DA and the "Olathe 8" while she was employed by Johnson County and Phill Kline was her boss. She implies that he used sexual harrassment to do this act. It has nothing to do with the consensual relationship they had for 2 years.

The sad part about this is that I really like Paul Morrison. I certainly prefer him over Phil Kline. This, however, is not the first time Paul has been accused of sexual harassment. I'm not going to name names but a little research will provide the name of his first accuser.

His behavior was flat out wrong - So, was hers...I'm not sure I can call their two-year sexual relationship anything close "sexual harrassment" - How about a woman scorned?

If this was a case of extra-"marital rape" - She should have been filing charges 2 years ago... Not taking trips - accepting $16,000 engagment rings - and talking about leaving her spouse.

dalilah104 - That makes sense! Didn't read your post before I posted.

I think you hit the nail on the head. But, still wouldn't call it "sexual harrassment" ...

I still say- She got her feelings hurt over something - and is now using it against him.

However; morrison was also a fool in this case.... For ever going there in the first place... He set himself up.

The real sad part is that the lives of two families have been changed forever because of these relationships. Regardless of if the spouses forgive, there will be mistrust and other issues from now on.

If there was an illegal act in this, it should be prosecuted and public. However, the families of these two should not be harassed by the media because they are having to deal with a lot of things right now and don't need an extra issue with the media. Sorry for the run on sentence. But I think my point is clear.

I suspect it has more to do with politics than sexual harassment, the harassment could be deemed mutual or even an affair gone bad. These things happen and they are bad for everone involved. Governor Sebellius has called for his resignation if the allegations about involvement in a Federal case are proven, which he do if that is the case. From across the line, he appeared to be doing a good job.

Beware of a woman scorned!! I too don't see where sexual harassment falls play to this openly admitted "CONSENSUAL" affair. Why is it Democrats are always getting caught with their hands in the cookie jar? Could it depend on who actually has a hand in the baking, hmmmm...

GamaTammy
Democrats get caught in affairs and indiscretions just like anyone else, the main difference is that theirs are with women!

After so many years why would it be considered harassment? If this type of abuse was going on why did she wait so long to announce it. I think she was disgruntled. Im sure Morrison carries his own guild but I don't think sexual harassment is one of them.
I don't think its anything to do with politics. They all have their dirty laundry to contend with. As don't we all.

And to his credit, he didnt not have a press conference, with wife in hand, saying "I am not horny, I have never been horny". Or "I just have a wide stance" and it must have been misunderstood.
With all the publicity in the last few months about Republican indiscretions with prostitutes, male interns and strangers in airport rest rooms I totally understand why Morrison is being jumped on. Turn about is fair play.
And while we deal with really important issues like this, the nation is being threatened by the distruction of video tapes of torture of prisoners by the CIA.
So yes, Morrison had an extramarital affair that went South. Big deal.
Lets deal with issues that will impact this country now and in the future. This stuff is truly trivial pursuit when compared to the big picture.
