I would like to congratulate Langley Air Force Base and the other Air Show organizers for the extraordinary display of organizational skills in dealing with the parking situation. We (my two kids and myself) were stuck in our vehicle 100 yards from the La Salle entrance to the base for over an hour and never moved. I eventually turned around along with others since I figured the air show would be over by the time I actually got to the runway. From the people walking back from the gate, everyone said we were waiting to park and they were just overwhelmed. I would think someone at Langley Air Force Base would realized the increase in traffic flow to the base for the air show and would have a plan in affect to deal with it. This air show was advertised all over the TV so why would anyone not expect a big turn out. We've been to Oceana Air Show numerous times in the past and have NEVER had any issues with parking anywhere remotely to what we dealt with at Langley.
Hopefully I'm not the only person who emailed Langley in regards to this ridiculous situation and maybe next year someone will actually have a plan to deal with the traffic.

every morning I shake my head because on TV and radio ALL the traffic reporter say "West bound" for traffic coming from suffolk into chesapeake....this is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!! If i am traveling east that means I am EAST bound...going toward the east. I whish that some one would break out a dictionary sometime!!! thanks for letting me vent.

Although I've moved away from my native home of Portsmouth, I try to keep up with the news there. I was surprised that someone can strike a disabled car, which in turn, hits a pedestrian, a prominate one at that, walks away without returning with "help", and is not charged with hit&run is beyond me. If there is an age old law stating that you can't be charged with hit&run if you leave your vehical at the scene, I think we should all know about it. Smells fishy to me.
