HEY THESHAN2007, WASH U AWARDED MS. SCHLAFLY THE DEGREE, NOT UMSL.  The liberal left show their hypocrisy again May 17, 2008 | 08:59 AM PST
Category: Political Report This Post

I thought the liberal left's mantra was TOLERANCE. I thought their tagline was CHOICE. I thought they were opposed to JUDGEMENT.

Huh?

They were incredibley INTOLERANT of UMSL's CHOICE to honor Phyllis Schlafly, JUDGING her to be unacceptable.

Thank you, once again, liberal left for outing yourselves for the hypocrits you are. It makes my job so much easier when very little effort has to be put into exposing your fraud. I think with my free time I'll go catch a movie. THANK YOU!

dangerous_dogs.html

The link is to the Humane Society's statement regarding breed specific bans.  They support enforcement of leash laws and stiff penalties for "bad dog" parents.  Dog owners need to be held accountable for the actions of their dogs, just like parents are held accountable for the actions of their children.  Since it is very difficult to determine the "breed" of many dogs how can you pass laws banning a specific breed?  Most people think my purebreed American Bulldog is a pit bull and many "bad pits" are actually mixed breeds.

It seems to me that if the church feels that the right thing to do is help the uninsured flood victims, then God bless them.  Too many of us sit here and judge people's situations when don't know all the circumstances.  I know many individuals who are self employed and make a fair living who don't have health insurance because the cost are so high.  I choose to give my time and money to animal causes right now and that is my right.  There are costs that wont be paid by the flood insurance or by FEMA.  And look at the bang up job FEMA has done helping the people in New Orleans.

Defense rests its case in quadruple murder trial BY BETH HUNDSDORFER News-Democrat

BELLEVILLE --The defense attorneys for Jason D. Smith rested their case on Tuesday morning.

Both sides will deliver closing arguments at 9 a.m. today.

Smith, 31, is on trial for the Oct. 5, 2005, shotgun murders of his former girlfriend Nicole Willyard, 19; Willyard's 9-week-old son, Jason Smith; and her friends Mary Cawvey, 19, and Brandon Lovell, 23.

Before resting their case on Tuesday morning, Corey Easton, Smith's defense attorney, called private investigator Alva Busch to the stand and produced a mock-up of the window in the apartment where the murders took place.

All the victims were shot in the head with a shotgun that later was found in Smith's girlfriend's home in Red Bud, where Smith was arrested the morning of the murders.

After closing arguments, jurors will begin deliberations.

If Smith is found guilty, John O'Gara, Smith's defense lawyer, will present any mitigating factors that jurors should consider when deciding whether to vote for the death penalty.

With all of the heated debate about the Uhl tragedy, this case has gotten little coverage.  My husbands knows the family of Brandon Lovell and my view of Mr. Smith's guilt is not unbiased.  I was wondering what others thought about this case.

Another bus accident with injuries at Virginia and Bates this evening.  Will someone please do something about the driver who don't follow the rules and reward the drivers who drive well?  Watch the clip on ksdk.com about the bus drivers and you won't put a kid on a bus for a long time.  Police officers need to pull over the buses and give tickets and the companies need to shadow their buses as part of their performance evaluations.  Driving a bus with unruly kids is not my idea of fun but drivers still need to do a good job.  I just look out my front window to see if my husband was home yet and there was another Laidlaw, now First Student, bus running the stop sign without even a pause.  How many more accidents need to happen before someone does something?  Do kids need to die?  I was honked at by a car driver this morning because I stopped when a bus had the stop arm out and I didn't move until the stop arm was pulled in.  The driver was in the right, she had kids loading.  If other drivers would give the school buses a break maybe they would do a better job.  Do the bus drivers realize that someone loves each and every one of those kids on the bus, no matter how rotten they are?  Would they want their kids in a bus who's driver drove like them?  Why will it take kids to die before someone takes action?

Does anyone other than me think that it is crazy that grade school children are playing soccer and football in this heat?  People died last weekend but the soccer tournament goes on?  I know it is ultimately my choice to let my child play at any game but who wants to be the kid who caused the team to forfit the game.  I saw a kid throw up on the field in the middle of the game and it stopped long enough to walk the kid off the field and then on with the game.  Are the parents who let their children play in temperatures over 100 degrees guilty of neglect?  Are the churches and leagues who sponsor the games guilty of endandering the welfare of many children?

Does anyone else have concerns about how the school busses drive on city streets?  I don't see them running stop signs and speeding in the county but I see it  ALL THE TIME in the city!

I am sitting in my house unable to leave because of a police stand off at the end of the block. I am greatful the the police are here now but where are they when I call at least once a wek for shoots fired. I realize that ther is a crack house down the street but it seems that they shoul respone even if my area isn't the best. I have called 911 more than once to report that the person who is barakaded in the building is beating a woman on my property.
