"API AUSTIN, Texas - The U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding lethal injection sent a shudder through death row Wednesday, and prosecutors and governors around the country said they would move forward with carrying out death sentences as quickly as the courts can set execution dates.

"It’s just terrible," said Paris Powell, a convicted killer at the Oklahoma State Prison in McAlester. He added: "It’s like the air has just been let out of a balloon. There’s disbelief that the ruling came so quickly, but it goes further than just right now. It’s now official that the death penalty is here to stay forever, really.

I wonder if Paris Powell victim was in a state of disbelief when he/she was being murdered at his hands?

Now I wonder if our governor will act as fast or will she try passing the buck onto the next governor? Convicted killer Jeffery Landrigan was issued a death warrent and had a set execution date of 1 November until the State overturn it pending the Kentucky appeal to the Supreme Court. It's now time to re-issue that death warrant to Landrigan and for the others that are on death row.

Hang 'em. Injection is too kind, they don't deserve any consideration. Or shoot them. Televise it, that's a better deterent than "they went to sleep".

The legal alternative here is the Gas Chamber, dust that off and start using it and skip these frivolous inmate's appeals such as whether the State lethal injection proceedures here follows protocol?? It sure worked on Comer last year.

I am all for the death penalty as the punishment should fit the crime. Problem is, it has been proven that through mistakes and error, inocent people have been killed by this penalty. Until that gets worked out 100%, I am against it. I think it should all be suspeneded until then. Especially with DNA now as evidence but even then you have other people planted by crooked cops and expert criminals.....kinda makes you pause before a whizz quizz for a job or probation or any other DNA submissions like a blood test for a DUI test or something. Basically, until they get that all worked out, they really should just stop it.

....or quit making it a mandatory thing to submit DNA just for being out in society and working or driving a car......but until then, yeah, quit it.

I feel if there's slightist hint of reasonable doubt than sure, err on the side that the inmate may be innocent and investigate any and all leads until proven otherwise. But read the ADOC bio's of those that are currently on death row and it will make you wonder why they're still breathing??

(phoenixJane...it was a lucky break being at the canyon last year during a 3 day snowstorm, it was beautiful!)

Yeah but how does that saying go....history is written by the victor? Who wrote the bio, etc....Prosecution has to make them all look a certain way.....and I am sure most are guilty. But until that turns to ALL they need to quit it until they get it straight.
