If this doesn't put a lump in your throat and make you think twice about "giving up" in Iraq, I believe there is no hope for you...

With all this hoopla over the recent Presidential Veto and the three months of wasted legislation by the Democratic Congress, I think I may be onto something here.
There's an old saying something along the lines of "giving someone enough rope to hang themselves with..."
Think big picture, and think about the 2008 elections. By throwing a few key races in the 2006 mid-terms, the Republicans give the Democrats just enough wins to control the House and the Senate. Democrats hail a huge victory for themselves, wave flags, claim to be "the voice of the people" blah, blah, blah. They do NOT, however, have enough votes to override a Presidential Veto on any key legislation. In the meantime, the Democrats are given two years or just "enough rope" to show America how ridiculous their policies are...Just in time for the '08 elections, and another Republican landslide.
Boy those Republicans are sneaky...
LOL!

So, just like things changed forever in America after 9/11, so to will the way of life change after yesterdays tragedy...
The only way I see to ensure that our children our protected is to ensure that there is someone there TO protect them. Whether it be armed teachers or security guards in grade, middle, and high schools, or allowing college students over the age of 21 who are concealed permit holders to carry on campus. You CANNOT leave them defensless anymore!
AUSTIN, Texas - Campus threats forced lock-downs and evacuations at universities in Texas, Oklahoma and Tennessee and two public schools in Louisiana on Tuesday, a day after a Virginia Tech student's shooting rampage killed 33 people.
In Louisiana, parents picked up hundreds of students from Bogalusa's high school and middle school amid reports that a man had been arrested Tuesday morning for threatening a mass killing in a note that alluded to the murders at Virginia Tech.
Schools Superintendent Jerry Payne said both schools were locked down and police arrested a 53-year-old man who allegedly made the threat in a note he gave to a student headed to the private Bowling Green School in Franklinton. Both towns are in southeastern Louisiana.
"The note referred to what happened at Virginia Tech," Payne said. "It said something like, 'If you think that was bad, then you haven't seen anything yet."
In Austin, authorities evacuated buildings at St. Edward's University after a threatening note was found, a school official said.
Police secured the campus perimeter and were searching the buildings, St. Edward's University spokeswoman Mischelle Amador said. She declined to say where the note was found and said its contents were "nonspecific."
The two other scares were determined to be unfounded.
At the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, officials ordered three campus administration buildings evacuated for almost two hours Tuesday morning in response to a telephone bomb threat. The city's bomb squad searched the buildings but found nothing, campus spokesman Chuck Cantrell said.
Cantrell said there was no reason to believe the bogus threat was related to the shootings at Virginia Tech, but "we just chose to err on the side of caution today."
The other, at the University of Oklahoma, had started with a report of a man spotted on campus carrying a suspicious object, officials said.
The man was carrying an umbrella, not a weapon, and he later identified himself to authorities, University of Oklahoma President David Boren said in a statement. Boren initially had said the person was believed to carrying a yoga mat.
"We now consider the matter closed," Boren said. "We always want to err on the side of caution in a situation like this."
At St. Edward's in Austin, students who live on campus were being allowed to return to their dormitories as police finished searching each building, Amador said. Faculty, staff and all other students were asked to stay away from the campus, and morning and afternoon classes were canceled. About 5,200 students are enrolled at the Catholic university south of downtown Austin.
Amador said the university's reaction was not influenced by Monday's attack at Virginia Tech.
"No matter what day or when this would have happened, we will always take the necessary precautions to protect our students, our faculty, our staff, the entire university community," she said.

Here comes the hypocrisy! The Democrats have not even taken over control of Congress yet, and already a senior ranking member of the Democratic party (Charlie Rangel-NY) has already stated that in January he intends to introduce legislation in an attempt to re-instate the draft for all able bodies males 18-35!
Hmmm...I thought Democrats were AGAINST the war and wanted to bring troops home?
"I don't see how anyone can support the war and not support the draft. I think to do so is hypocritical," he said.
So, is he against the war or not? I think all along that the Democrats have know BLEEP well that we can't just pull out of Iraq. But, instead of admitting it, they play the "war" card to pull out a win in the mid-term elections with NO intention of doing ANYTHING different in Iraq, other than, of course, sending even MORE TROOPS by way of a draft...
This is will be very interesting.

How the hell was this guy still out on the street after being arrested for theft 16 times in a year? Kansas City, Missouri needs to wake up and build more jail space. When someone can get arrested 16 times in a year and does no substantial jail time because the jails are full...It's time to build more jails!
No wonder the crime rate is through the roof! Every criminal in the metro knows BLEEP well that IF they get caught, there will be no punishment.
This needs to be the number one issue facing voters for Mayor and city council in the next KC elections. If it isn't, this city is going to be taken over by criminals. (Meaning, IN ADDITION to the ones that already hold office.)

I just got off the phone with the Salvation Army in Kansas City. I was inquiring about helping out on Thanksgiving with the "Meals on Wheels" program to bring meals to home-bound individuals. I was told that at this time they already have more volunteers than they have folks to deliver meals to! So instead I will be helping out my father-in-law on Thanksgiving morning to deliver the meals that he already has a route for.
Wow! Great to hear that so many folks in the KC area have already stepped up to the plate to help others who are in need.

What kind of world are we living in when a suspect in an armed carjacking is allowed to lead police on a two hour chase? This last chase went all the way from Lawrence to Truman Lake? Are you kidding me? An ARMED suspect? This "suspect" should have been rammed or shot before he made it 10 miles out of Lawrence. How many innocent lives did he endanger on his way to Truman Lake?
Thanks to all the trial sharks (liars, um, I mean lawyers) in this country, police officers are forced to participate in these long, drawn out chases. The rights of the criminals have become more important than those of law-abiding innocent citizens.
Ugggghhhhhh! I'm so mad right now I'm at a loss for any more words!

Quote...Yes, Quote:
“You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.” - John Kerry, October 30, 2006
So, according to John Kerry, the only reason to join the Military is if you are dumb, stupid, and can't hack it in the real world. OR, you plan on coming home, disrepecting your fellow soldiers, and making a political career of it.
This is where we stand folks. Don't let these liberals fool you. Occasionally they slip and say what they really mean...
John Kerry should be hung.
Rant off.

On being named the 16th most dangerous city in the United States! Coming in closely behind? Kansas City, Kansas at number 30! Kay Barnes and Joe Reardon certainly have something to be proud of!
Let me give you two upstanding citizens a little hint...If you want to get the "crime" off the streets, you need to get the "criminals" off the street. Build more jails if you have to, spend more money for more assistant DA's, but don't let people walk or plea-bargain because you are low on resources.
There's an old saying that goes..."If you keep doing what your'e doing, you'll keep getting what your'e getting..."
What good is a "revitalized" downtown or Village West area going to do if people are afraid to go there for fear of violent crime?
Law-abiding citizens of the KC Metro? Arm yourselves, because it's going to get worse before it gets better.
