Ive learned that you dont think clearly during it.

Ive learned that all your valuables are not really valuable as your own life is.

Ive learned that one cat carrier sucks when you have 5 cats.

Ive learned that running up and down three flights of stars naked with only a small robe on, it is hard to keep it tied and if you accidently pee running up the stairs no one cares.

Ive learned never to stick your hand in a cat carrier to try to pull out a distressed cat.

Ive learned that you should not keep running around in a smoke filled room with your mouth open wide trying to breathe,

Ive learned that smoke gets into every little crack and stays in your house forever, and the smell is terrible.

I ve learned to check your smoke detectors cuz mine never went off.,

Ive learned to always know where you fire extinguiser is cuz I didnt,

Ive learned that we were all very very lucky that Scott had one in his work truck.

Ive learned that 911 operators for the most part suck.

Ive learned that my neighbors love n care bout me even tho they dont even know me, but they took two of my cats in their homes for me and I appreciate them very much,

Ive learned that even if you change into a pair of jeans you can still pee your pants again.  I guess I get too excited and i was very scared.

Ive learned to listen carefully to that little voice that was trying to tell me to grab the 2nd cat carrier out of my storage closet yesterday for some reason, and i didnt.

I learned that I didnt have renters insurance but I do today.

Ive learned that I am very grateful that Scott has been staying with me cuz Holly and I could never have put out the fire on our deck and gotten all our cats and ourselves out.

Ive learned that I will never yell at my daughter for staying up too late on a school night cuz had she not been awake, the fire would have consumed our building along with us and our cats.

Ive learned that this fire started by my careless cigarette smoking and I feel ashamed, selfish and stupid.

I learned that today is the great american smoke out and I am gonna do it, especially after what happened last night and how worse it could have been by my carelessness and selfishness.

I'm very sorry you had to go through that, glad you made it out alive. Did all your cats survive, I hope? This was a great post. One thing I can honestly say is that I will never cause a fire by careless smoking, I don't smoke, and never will. You know that smell you mentioned, that gets in everywhere and smells terrible? That is how smoking smells to me. I simply don't understand why people don't mind smelling like that, I honestly don't. Was that the fire I heard about in Olathe? I thought you lived in Missouri...

Life is a learning process, good luck on controlling your smoking, and the other thing.

well i live up by the airport. there were so many firemen here but not one asked me if i needed oxygen or help or anything with helping me get my 5 cats out. i dont understand, they were all just standing around cracking jokes and visiting with each other. there must have been 30. my neighbors and my daughter and my boyfriend all helped me with the cats. two neighbors took a cat and i loaded up the other three and put them in my car in the parking lot. was running round in my robe with no shoes and not one fireman asked me anything. weird, but i am glad to be unharmed, a little smoke filled, still coughing alot, but no one was injured and a major lesson was learned and i am very thankful my boyfriend was staying over cuz he actually put the fire out with his extenguiser, but received burns from the door handle. was a scary night that i never want to repeat anytime ever. thanks for all yoru concerns tho.

Hmmm, well I am recently separated after 27 years. It is a good thing though! I have two kids, 16 & 21 and a 2 yr old granddaughter. I have lived north of the river since 1974. Would never live any other place. Depending what time of the year it is, is what I do for a living. I used to work for HR Block managin an office for 10 years, but they suck so I quit plus I am better than they are so there. During the political season, I help Sam Graves campaign or whomever needs my help! My fulltime job right now along with whatever else I am doing, is managing a small kiosk up at KCI airport. We sell a portable scanner that scans receipts, business cards & documents so you can do your expenses! I love the airport! As my name states, I am a nader chaser- not ralph nader, tornader! I love severe weather! I have the Infamous May 4th tornado on video! I absolutely love to BLOG! I listen to talk radio in my car ALL the time!I love to go to garage sales, I love politics and I love reality TV! My life right now is very exciting and I love it!
