Coach Langston died Tuesday at the age of 65. When he retired from coaching, he was recognized as a legend among area high school football coaches. Norcom High School named their stadium after him. He was named the district Coach of the Year on four occasions and the coveted Virginia Coach of the Year in 1993.

Coach Langston was my P.E. teacher in my HS days. He was a great guy, a motivator and a beacon of light to the youth that he coached. He deserves every bit of respect that he's getting and then some. The man is a local legend.

I am a graduate of Norcom. Class of '98. Go Greyhounds!! No doubt, Coach Langston was a local legend-in a class of his own. It shocked me when I read about what happened in the Virginian Pilot. I was messed up for a minute. Actually, I still can't believe it. He held I C Norcom down! Those were the good ol' dayz. He will b missed. R.I.P. Coach Langston.
