I just can't figure some people out.  Christmas crops up every December 25.  If you are going to give presents to someone, they need to be bought, wrapped, and delivered before or on December 25.  Yet there are many people that haven't finished their Christmas shopping yet.  And Christmas is only 4 days away.  Some haven't even started their shopping yet!  Now when they go to the store, they will spend as much time in the checkout line as they do searching for a present.    Every Christmas Eve, there are huge crowds of people rushing around in the stores picking through the leftovers trying to finish their shopping instead of enjoying their friends and families.  And next year, the very same people will be doing the same thing again.  The crowds make it bad for the other people that are done with their Christmas shopping, but going to the store to buy something they need outside of Christmas.  So we all suffer.

And it's not just Christmas.  Every year on April 15, the tax returns are due.  And there are people rushing around to get their's mailed in on time.  The Post Office even stays open until midnight to cater to these procrastinaters.

I have always been the type to get these types of things done and out of the way as soon as I can.  I usually have my taxes done by the middle of February.  And I had all of my Christmas shopping done a couple of weeks ago.  I wrapped a few of them today and I will wrap the rest tomorrow.

Are you a procrastinater?  Are you done with your Christmas shopping?  If not why?

I'm meticulous when it comes to Christmas preparations. I put up my Christmas tree along with all the rest of the Christmas decorations the weekend before Thanksgiving. I always mail my Christmas cards on December 1. I start my Christmas shopping early and I wrap each present as soon as I get it. My shopping was completed last week and all presents are wrapped. I take down the Christmas tree on December 26 along with the outdoor lights, so, everything is put away. I even make up my new Christmas card list for next year on December 26.

This year i refused to even buy a TREE.The way bush the 2nd left this country it is hard to spend anything. So you could say scrooge or BUSHthe2nd stole christmas from many americans.
Predatory credit and the illegal patriot ACT are my presents this year.Bush the protector of the american dream turnD it into a nightmare!I could spend money but i think suffering in BUSH the2nd's honor is fitting. He sold america out and back stabbed many american children who have to pay for his mistakes in the future.

When I was young and single all my shopping would be done by the end of October. As family (kids) have come along it wasn't as easy to do. There are too many other things to take care of. I still get everything done way before 12/25 but I just don't have the time to spend on all the froo-froo of the holidays like I did when I didn't have kids.
I saw today's poll about regifting too. I know I have been regifted but I refuse to regift. I feel if you don't have the time or money to spend to buy me something then don't regift. Just don't get me anything. If I have been given a gift that's not right for me I will return it or if a friend or family member likes it I'll give it to them but not as a regift. Tacky, tacky, tacky!

We were done with our Christmas shopping in October when the Christmas music started at the stores. Shipping was done in November. Now we are free to enjoy baking cookies and making candy this week.

Tax program gone through once already. Now we know what we need to gather. As usual we will need to wait til jobs send out forms the last possible day to submit.

I wanted to go to the store yesterday to buy something. But I decided to wait until after Christmas when the crowds thin down. But there will also be the after Christmas rush to spend gift cards and to return things. So I may have to bite the bullet and go to the store before Christmas. I hope nobody thinks I am one of the procrastinaters.

I'm a total procrastinator, I still have to buy a few things for my daughter and one of my son's. I always have most of it done but by the week before Christmas there is always something that I need to get. I have most of the stocking stuffers now but I have had to buy little by little as the "extra money" comes in. Is there such thing? LOL!

Every year, I shop/price gifts and get my list ready. Then, I wait until this week to buy everything since the stores use this week to make up the sales they missed. I spend 6 hours picking up all my presents than another 3 wrapping them on Dec. 23rd. However, I realize that once I have kids, I may have to change this process. For now, shopping for a niece and a newborn nephew as well as my immediate family is pretty easy and cheap the two days before Christmas.

My taxes, on the other hand, are a different story. I usually (except last year when the bf wanted to do it. He is A HUGE procrastinator) have it finished by mid March. After last year's fiasco, and because I am now completely self-employed, I plan on getting this done the first week of January.

We only put the tree up this year because the husband wanted it up. The kids couldn't care less about the tree.
My husband was in the hospital in July for a week and lost his job the day he got home. He has been unable to find full time work. He is a plumber with over 20 yrs. experience. I have had my hours cut at work from 50 hrs. a week to 15 hrs. a week.
Needless to say this Christmas S*U*C*K*S. Nothing under the tree at all for anyone. We were lucky to pay Rent, Phone, Car Ins. and the other monthly bills this month. Can't wait till next month!!

So, I for one am so sick and tired of listening to these people complain about their situations. There are people out there far worse off than YOU!! Get over it!!

We bought a few gifts, but mainly for the nieces and nephews and children of extended family. During these hard times we all have agreed that there will be no gift exchange between the adults. What's more important than anything is that we're all together on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We don't do the over the top thing for Christmas anymore, we don't feel that's what it's all about. Hard economic times can change folks outlooks and priorities, sometimes for the better.....

My wife and I just bought a house, in November so we are freaking BROKE right now. Her shopping was done the day after Thanksgiving. We got caught up on some bills and have a little "extra" money, so I will be a madman tomorrow, shopping for my wife, my son and daughter and my parents. Sigh.

This year has been totally different for me and my Christmas Shopping. I have all my Christmas shopping done. The reason it's different this year is because there are no bonuses being given, As much as my boss would like to, therefor my Chrismas list is real short. My son and my husband. Everybody else is getting either a knitted scarf, knitted purse or a knitted shawl. I have one more scarf to make and I'm done. Knitting helps me relax and I knit all year long never really knowing as I'm knitting exactly who its going to go to. My knitting throughout the year really helped me out this Christmas.

Those knitted things are something I would choose over a litany of other gifts I could receive. I still have a throw/blanket my grandmother made for me many years ago. The sentimental value makes it priceless and everytime I use I think of her, not to mention it's wearing really well. Good for you for giving something that lasts, and they will always remember you for it.
