There is a telemarketing company called IPA-IBA that has been calling people in our area.  Their goal:  to get you to invite one of their "business analyists" into your office to HELP you with your business needs.

The problem:  Once inside your office they will build trust with you while wearing you down, tell you that your business will close if you don't hire their project managers to come help you out.

The Con:  after wearing you and your staff out for 2 days, this guy will have you sign a contract that you can not cancel by phone or mail, one that you have to pay their "consultants" $4,000-$5,000 plus airfare, lodging and rental car and a Per Diem of $46.00 for EACH person that they send.

The problem with the con:  they send these monkeys 2 or 3 at a time and each one of them is supposed to get $254.00 per hour for the full business day.  You do the math folks!

The Urgency:  everything is supposed to happen immediately, the next day after you sign your contract, the project managers are supposed to arrive.

The Truth:  IPA-IBA is preying upon your insecurities and trying to bilk you for every dime you have PLUS whatever you have available.  After all, wouldn't you like to INVEST in your own business... ie.... hire us and we'll rob you blind!

How you can avoid this:  DO NOT LET ANYONE COME INTO YOUR BUSINESS and start snooping around that you did not call.  Anyone promising the moon and telling you not to call your attorney or not to trust your accountaint should be asked to leave.

If you have been a victim of telemarketing from these people, if they have been calling you.. before you talk to them or invite them in your door... do a google search for:

IPA-IBA scam and you will have reading for about 3 hours.

How did you think Telemarketers got paid?

Bottom line: have them thoroughly identify themselves and check 'em out. ALL of them have hung up on me after this question.

Well, the original telemarketer called to see if we were open "tomorrow at 9" he then said, good we'll stop by and say hi. He did not tell us that a guy would show up from Illinois for 2 days and distract the heck out of us.

I posted the blog because people need to use their caller ID!

Like I said... have some fun, go google these peeps.

There is some more fun reading about how these same scammers paid huge contributions to political campaigns. Hillary is one of them who received cash from IPA, yet she has not returned any of it.

Just a quick followup, I contacted the Illinois Attorney General and the BBB for their area there. within 2 weeks we received a letter telling us that they would not be returning to our business or calling again.

This ended well for us, but you still need to be on your toes and be careful of telemarketers!!

Just because something is high priced does not mean it is a 'con' or a 'scam'.

By all means do research online but also consider the source. Anyone can say anything they like on the internet anonymously...and it does not have to be factual. The pdf you linked proves that. There is a lot of false information on there.

For example, if I followed your advice and did a search for 'Fox News Sucks' on Google I would find out that all Fox News does is lie and mislead the public. Does this mean that all the information on this site is false or does it mean that some people out there just plain don't like Fox News and like to say negative garbage about them?

I won't even try and convince you that they are good. You have formed your opinion and that is fine. However, anyone reading your post that wants to see the other side of the coin can find it here: http://www.ipaconsulting.com/video/ This shows some of the satisfied clients.
