You must be kidding!  Right?  Tell me you're joking!

The IRS is wondering why so many refund and stimulus checks have been returned or have gone unclaimed?  Do any of these people really want the IRS knowing where they live?

The IRS works with law enforcement agencies in providing up-to-date information about their filers.  You must file and provide current information and addresses to receive your refund and stimulus checks.

As far as the refund checks go...most of those people no longer have an address...just walked away from their American Dream...as well as their creditors.  They don't want the IRS to have their current information either.

Ah...just take that money and give it to Wall Street...they really need it worse than we do anyhow.

Deb---it's most likely b.c illegals pay taxes and should have recieved the stimulus when they filed. HOwever, the illegals don't provide true info b.c they are afraid to be deported (which is also why they don't go to hospitals nearly as much as the future Nazis would have you believe.).

your logic yet again makes no sense. If they FILED taxes (as you say) then their info is already 'out there' so to say they're afraid of being deported if they receive a stimlus check is (yet again) ridiculous. As far as them" not going to hospitals as much as..." tell that to the border hospitals and clinics that have gone bankrupt.

I would guess that a lot of these checks are unclaimed because people have moved, possibly even left the country.

alot of the checks reamain unclaimed because of several reasons. people have been evicted from their home and have no forwarding address, people go to jail and cant cash the check, and the irs and or the postal service mailed it to the wrong place. most illegals do not file taxes every year!!!!!!!!!

There's aks true to form. Let's blame the enforcement of immigration laws. Yeah sounds good. Throw in nazi for good measure. GROW UP!

I have to agree the returned checks are most likely due to people losing their homes and not providing a forwarding address. I'd tell the IRS to put the money back where it came from but there wasn't any money to be providing those checks to begin with.

My money is on the foreclosed excuse. By the time those checks were actually received it was too late for some people.
