Just a heads up...

I have used travel websites, like Orbitz, for a very long time.  It can be a bit of a hassle to book air, hotel and car, especially when you are traveling to a new destination.

Recently, I was ready to book a trip for 2 adults for a week in Key West over Christmas.  The second in my party is traveling from another state.  It just seemed alot easier to let them do all of it for me.  Almost a big mistake!  For no reason, I decided to take a look at a different hotel and I was shocked at how inexpensive it was.  Then, I looked at the air travel and was completely blown away!  

Orbitz quoted approximately $3,600.  I booked the air and hotel separately for a total of $2,002.

You might want to take the time to look and book directly with the airlines, hotels and car rental agencies.

Gov. Janet Napolitano is offering new plans for closing the state's big budget shortfall:

1. Future lottery revenue payments to outside investors ($400 million)
2. Delay payment of state expenses (Only Deferred Expense)
3. Ticket revenue from speed enforcement cameras ($50 million)

The state is facing a projected $1.2 billion revenue shortfall.  This year's budget is $9.9 billion.  State payment delays would target universities, the state health care system and Department of Economic Security.  Janet expects $50 million in ticket revenue from the new speed cameras now being placed around the state.  Napolitano also lists $426 million from selling future lottery revenue to investors.

Hmmm....that's roughly $450 million out of $1.2 billion.  Hmmm...That's only 40% of the deficit.

I thought speed cameras were there to protect us?  I didn't know you could leverage future lottery payments to outside investors?  Does outside investors mean U.S. investors or outside of the U.S. investors?

WASHINGTON - President-elect Barack Obama has imposed stricter conflict-of-interest restrictions on his White House transition team than any president before him. But a list of transition team members that his office made public on Friday includes a complicated tangle of ties to private influence-seekers.

Out of 150 staff members being assigned to government agencies between now and Inauguration Day are dozens of former lobbyists and some who were registered as recently as this year. Many more are executives and partners at firms that pay lobbyists, and former government officials who work as consultants or advisers to those seeking influence.

1.      Christopher Lu, Obama's transition executive director, an Obama Senate aide and law school classmate.  Even Mr. Lu, the transition’s executive director charged with policing potential conflicts of interests, may have his own appearance problems. His wife, Kathryn Thomson, is a lawyer who represents corporate clients dealing with federal environmental regulations, while his older brother, Curtis Lu, is a top lawyer for Fannie Mae. (Such family connections may not be disqualifying conflicts depending on the nature of the transition job, ethics lawyers said.)

2.      Henry Rivera, a former Democratic commissioner on the Federal Communication Commission who was involved in planning for the agency’s transition, has dropped out of that role because he had represented clients on communications policy in the last year.  Mr. Rivera will now be handling science, technology, space and the arts. The rules permit people who have lobbied in one area to join an Obama transition team in another.

3.      Stephanie Cutter, a transition spokeswoman, said in a written statement that the transition team reflected what she called Mr. Obama’s “commitment to change the way Washington does business and curb the influence of lobbyists on our government.”

4.      Keith Harper, handling Interior Department issues, lobbied earlier this year for Native American tribes.

5.      Pamela Gilbert, overseeing the Consumer Products Safety Commission is a former executive director of the agency who as recently as two years ago lobbied for a consumer advocacy group. Within the last year she has lobbied for the company Barr Laboratories, for an investor group, and for an antitrust enforcement group.

6.      Theodore Shaw, handling the Justice Department and civil rights areas of the transition is a litigator for an arm of the N.A.A.C.P. He has registered as a lobbyist for the group in the past, but N.A.A.C.P. officials say he has not lobbied in the past 12 months.

7.      David J. Hayes, overseeing the transition and co-head of the team handling the areas of energy and natural resources, is the chairman of the environmental practice at the law and lobbying firm Latham & Watkins. He was personally registered as a lobbyist as recently as 2006, for clients including San Diego Gas and Electric.

8.      Sally Katzen, handling the office of the president and government operations, was registered last year to lobby for the pharmaceutical company Amgen on Medicare reimbursements.

9.      Louisa Terrell, another member of the top working group, is on leave from the public policy office of the Internet company Yahoo!

10.  Tom Wheeler, another of the top 12, is on leave from a firm that invests in technology companies and before 2004 lobbied for the cable television and wireless industries.

11.  John L. White, a former Clinton official charged with overseeing the new Defense Department, is a partner in a firm that invests in defense contractors.

12.  Michael Warren, charged with overseeing Treasury, is chief operating officer of a firm that lobbies for clients including the U.S.-India Business Council.

Several of the officials have ties to the Fannie Mae, the government-backed mortgage firm whose implosion this fall contributed to the financial meltdown.

13.  Thomas Donilon, overseeing the State Department, is a partner in the law and lobbying firm O’Melveny and Myers who until three years ago lobbied for Fannie Mae.

14.  Wendy R. Sherman, the other official charged with reviewing the State Department, once headed Fannie Mae’s charitable foundation.

15.  James Johnson, a former top officer of Fannie Mae, is on the economics and international trade team, charged with reviewing the Commodities Futures Trading Commission.

16.  Lori Garver, on the NASA review board, is now president of a strategic consulting company, Capital Space LLC, and previously worked for the aerospace company DFI International.

17.  Mozelle Thompson, among the transition officials charged with reviewing the Securities and Exchange Commission — likely to come under significant scrutiny amid the financial meltdown — runs a legal and policy consulting business for publicly traded companies including Facebook.com.

18.  Jami Miscik, leading a review of American intelligence agencies, was the head of intelligence analysis at the Central Intelligence Agency during its biggest embarrassment: the botched assessments about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction. Then she moved on to become a senior official managing risks in emerging markets for the investment bank Lehman Brothers, until its collapse this fall.

[§338-17.8] Certificates for children born out of State.

(a) Upon application of an adult or the legal parents of a minor child, the director of health shall issue a birth certificate for such adult or minor, provided that proof has been submitted to the director of health that the legal parents of such individual while living without the Territory or State of Hawaii had declared the Territory or State of Hawaii as their legal residence for at least one year immediately preceding the birth or adoption of such child.

(b) Proof of legal residency shall be submitted to the director of health in any manner that the director shall deem appropriate. The director of health may also adopt any rules pursuant to chapter 91 that he or she may deem necessary or proper to prevent fraudulent applications for birth certificates and to require any further information or proof of events necessary for completion of a birth certificate.

Many BHO supporters have pointed to the newspaper listing of his birth announcement as proof of his birth.  The newspaper listing is merely a vanity listing submitted to the paper since only a few of those appear each day and they are dwarfed by the number of kids actually born in Hawaii.  Just like marriage announcements, only a few are listed in comparison to all of the marriages performed in Hawaii.  Countless individuals have tried unsuccessfully to find anybody who may have worked at the hospitals and delivery rooms in 1961 to recall if such a birth took place.   In order to find out what actually took place regarding the Hawaii state records, the courts will have to demand that those records be opened.

The COLB (Certification of Live Birth) is built from source documents.  The doctor, nurse or midwife has to submit the paperwork to document the trail.  If he was born out of state and the COLB is by the mothers certification then that documentation would be in the record.  Currently, no one person has been able to find a shred of evidence to support the birth.

In BHO's books he talks about a different form of the birth record because he relates of how it included his birth weight.  The document produced by BHO and the DNC does not indicate his birth weight even though the COLB's issued by the State of Hawaii in 1961 did include the birth weight data. 

In Berg’s lawsuit, there are three different and overlapping disqualifying circumstances, any one of which would mean that Obama is not a “natural born citizen.” as the Constitution requires:

First, if Obama was born, not in Hawaii as he maintains, but in 1961 in Kenya, to a father, Barack Obama, Sr. who was a Kenyan citizen and to an American mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, who was an American citizen and 18 years of age at the time of Obama’s birth, Berg alleges, Obama would not have been born--under the U.S. citizenship laws then in effect--a “natural born citizen” of the U.S. and, in fact, the only way Obama could have gotten U.S. citizenship would have been to go through the naturalization process, and becoming a “naturalized citizen,”—and, incidentally, generating a boatload of official government paperwork--being a “naturalized citizen” Berg argues, is not the same thing as being a “natural born citizen” as the Constitution requires, so this would disqualify Obama.

Berg’s lawsuit alleges that, despite what Obama and his half sister Maya told reporters for the same Honolulu newspaper in separate interviews, each gave the name of a different hospital as the site of Obama’s birth.  Yet, there is no evidence to be found of an admission to any Honolulu hospital for Stanley Ann Dunham or for the birth of Obama in any Honolulu hospital, but researchers have found a birth record for a son, named Barack Obama, Jr. born in a Mombassa, Kenya hospital around the date Obama was supposed to have been born, whose father is listed as one Barack Obama, Sr. and whose mother was an American citizen.

The second allegation in Philip J. Berg’s suit, alleges that Obama would also be disqualified (http://BLEEP.com/5y24w2) if he holds citizenship in Kenya and/or Indonesia and if this is so, Berg argues, Obama is not only Constitutionally ineligible to run for President but he is also ineligible to hold his position as a United States Senator.

In his third allegation, Berg argues that Obama lost any U.S. citizenship he might have had and became a citizen of Indonesia--and Berg’s suit alleges that Obama traveled to Pakistan in 1981 on an Indonesian passport issued to him--by virtue of his mother’s marriage to her second husband, Indonesian citizen Lolo Soetoro and her and Obama’s residence in Indonesia. If U.S. law is as Berg states it is, Obama would have had to reapply for American citizenship, sometime after his 18th birthday, by appearing before on officer of the U.S. and swearing an Oath of Allegiance: easily proved if Obama did so, since such an event would, again, generate all sorts of official U.S. documentation; Berg argues that Obama never took this step and, therefore, never regained his U.S. citizenship.

The State of Hawaii has confirmed there is an original type-written 1961 birth certificate, that has not been released.

On Monday, November 3, 2008, Supreme Court Justice David Souter stated he is waiting for the disposition of a Writ of Certiorari, to which the defendants (BHO & DNC) have until December 1, 2008, to respond.  Certiorari n. A writ from a higher court to a lower one requesting a transcript of the proceedings of a case for review.

If a person is born in a hospital in the United States, the hospital transmits the information to the state department of health and a birth certificate is created.

If a person is born abroad, the original foreign birth certificate must be taken to the department of health in the state where the birth is being registered.

The original foreign birth certificate is stored at the department of health, which produces a "Certification of Live Birth."

If a person is born at home, the birth must be registered at the department of health with the medical records and birth certificate, which a doctor issues upon examination of the mother and child.

In other words, the department of health will have a "vault" copy of that person's birth certificate on file.

In 1961 Hawaiian birth certificates were black and typewritten.  In 2001 the Hawaii Dept. of Health offered a short and long version of these documents.

If Obama's birth occurred in a hospital in Hawaii the short version, called a "Certificate of Live Birth," was issued, not a Certification of Live Birth (COLB), as the Obama campaign has been using.

A COLB, is nothing more than a document stating the person was born, proving neither the person's birth nor citizenship.

Additionally, on the bottom left of a COLB, if a person is born abroad, it states "accepted," as the one produced by Obama does.  Also, the document produced by Obama states the date the Hawaii Department of Health accepted the registration of birth.

Stanley Ann Dunham, Obama's mother, could not have registered Obama's birth in Hawaii without the original 'vault' version of the foreign birth certificate, nor could she have gotten Obama out of Kenya, where he is believed to have been born,  Further, Obama's live birth in Kenya was witnessed by hospital staff as well as family members.

On October 29, 2008, Dr. Edwin Vieira, Jr., who holds four degrees from Harvard, A.B., A.M., Ph.D. and J.D., and has practiced constitutional law for over thirty years, wrote an article for newswithviews.com titled, "Obama must stand up now or step down."  In part, Dr. Edwin Vieira, Jr., wrote, "Obama's "stubborn refusal" to provide conclusive proof strongly suggests "no sufficient evidence in his favor exists."  Dr. Vieira, Jr., also wrote, "If Obama turns out to be nothing more than an usurper who has fraudulently seized control of the Presidency, not only will the Constitution have been egregiously flouted, but also this whole country could be, likely will be, destroyed as a consequence.  And if this country is even credibly threatened with destruction, every American will be harmed ...There, in this situation, any and every American must hae 'standing' to demand ... that Obama immediately and conclusively prove himself eligible for 'the Office of President.'"

The IRS is wondering why so many refund and stimulus checks have been returned or have gone unclaimed?  Do any of these people really want the IRS knowing where they live?

The IRS works with law enforcement agencies in providing up-to-date information about their filers.  You must file and provide current information and addresses to receive your refund and stimulus checks. 

As far as the refund checks go...most of those people no longer have an address...just walked away from their American Dream...as well as their creditors.  They don't want the IRS to have their current information either.

Ah...just take that money and give it to Wall Street...they really need it worse than we do anyhow.

Who voted for black skin?  96% of blacks voted for black skin.  Nearly 50% of whites voted for black skin.

Michael R. Signator, personal friend and confidant of Mr. & Mrs. “O” is truly operating below the grid and thus far have discovered very little information about him, except as follows:

1992       Unable to find a date of marriage.  Michael Signator was married to Tiffany Signator.  Tiffany was involved in litigation involving a third party, Michael Simmons, to establish paternity of a minor child.  It was determined that Michael Simmons was the father and the matter was referred to child support services for further action.

1995       Unable to find a date of marriage.  Michael Signator was married to a woman named Deneen.  Divorces were filed by Deneen Signator in 1995 and 1998.  The 1998 filing resulted in divorce and Michael Signator was ordered to provide financial support and health insurance for the children and was awarded joint custody with Deneen.

1996        Michael R. Signator purchased a home located in DuPage County, Illinois, from Eric D. Wynn.

2006       Michael Signator sued Tiffany (Conwell) to establish paternity of her child and it was concluded that the child belonged to him.  Michael Signator was ordered to provide insurance, support and was awarded joint custody with Tiffany.

Eric D. Wynn, is a twice-convicted securities promoter who pleaded guilty to stock manipulation that benefited a member of the Bonanno organized crime family and who served two years in prison for theft and tax charges, attended a December 1995 White House coffee with Clinton. In 1996, Wynn attended four other DNC fund-raising events involving Clinton. Wynn has been arrested five times within 6 months while out on bail for aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, violation of a restraining order, terroristic threats and driving while intoxicated. At least one of the arrests occurred between DNC fund-raisers Wynn attended in 1996 with Clinton.  Wynn was defended in court by a Clinton Judge appointee, Richard Mays, who also attended the Clinton White House coffees and who was responsible for obtaining the necessary DNC and White House clearances to gain entrance to the White House.   (The Detroit News, 2/16/97; The Washington Post, 2/20/97; The Star-Ledger, 2/20/97)

You opened your 5:00 p.m. broadcast with McCain's age?  Why don't you go somewhere else to work?  You are obviously a slanted and biased left of left...I won't ever watch you again! 

At the very least, I demand that our government publicly announce the names of each and every individual, including family members, who participated in and financially benefited from the sinister and greedy take-down of our financial institutions.  Further, I demand that each and every one of those individuals be indicted and publicly tried for their direct or indirect crimes against this nation and all of her citizens.  That they be treated and tried as treasonist terrorists; stripped of their money, their power and kicked out of this country, never able to return to American soil.

Yes...I'm angry and I want revenge.  Personally, I've watched my retirement investsments dwindle to nearly nothing and I want to know who they are and I demand they be punished.  No excuses this time.

The creation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac traces directly back to the Democrat Administrations, in an alleged attempt to make housing more affordable to the very people they kicked out of their homes because of their failed Welfare Reform policies enacted a couple of years earlier.  The Clinton Administration responded by weakening credit policies, reduced or eliminated down payments and overlooked rock bottom credit scores.

During this period, "ACORN", the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, was led by Barack Obama; ACORN has endorsed Obama for President.  ACORN has been involved with voter fraud and the ACORN Housing Corporation has helped obtain mortgages for illegal aliens using undocumented income.

As the leading Community Organizer, Obama, and friends, demanded that unqualified mortgage loans to be made to those that could not afford them, which were sold to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  Fannie and Freddie then packaged those mortgages and sold them on the secondary market to investors like Stearns, Lehman, AIG, Merrill Lynch and countless others.  When the dust settled and the purchasers of these packaged mortgages figured out that they weren't worth the paper they were written on, Fannie, Freddie and Lehman went under.

The political candidates that the failing Freddie and Fannie made the largest contributions to included Democrats Chris Dodd, Barack Obama and John Kerry.  Obama received the 2nd highest amount of contributions in the shortest period of time.  The failure of Freddie and Fannie resulted directly from the collapse of Lehman Brothers.

Since the takeover by the U.S. government of Freddie, Fannie, Stearns and AIG, attention has focused on three Democrats with close ties to Obama and who served as Fannie Mae executives:

1. Franklin Raines, former Clinton administration budget director.  Raines earned $90 Million in his five years as Fannie Mae CEO, from 1999 - 2004.
2. James Johnson, former aid to Democratic Vice President Walter Mondale.  Johnson earned $21 Million in just his last year serving as Fannie Mae CEO, from 1991 - 1998.
3. Jamie Gorelick, former Clinton administration deputy attorney general.  Gorelick earned an estimate $26 Million serving as vice chair of Fannie Mae from 1998 - 2003.  Gorelick has been given the nod for attorney general if Obama is elected. 

All 3 have been involved in mortgage-related financial scandals, including but not limited to, falsified employee signatures on account transactions, manipulating financial records to meet earnings targets to trigger massive bonuses, conflicts of interest, denied access to financial records of terrorists, personal favorable loans from sub-prime lender Countrywide Financial.

The decision by the U.S. Treasury to take over Freddie and Fannie could end up costing the U.S. taxpayer at least $100 Billion.  Freddie and Fannie own or guarantee approximately $5.2 Trillion worth of these worthless mortgages.  The federal government takeover of Freddie and Fannie passes to the U.S. taxpayer the contingent liability for failures in the entire $5.2 Trillion loan portfolio.  Over the last year alone, Fannie and Freddie suffered losses of about $14 Billion.

Obama has attempted to make the case that the economic turmoil we are experiencing is the result of the failed polices of the Bush Administration.  Please remember that during the time period of Obama's Community Organizing efforts he enjoyed the additional company and support of the following individuals:

ANTOIN “TONY” REZKO:  Chicago property developer, found GUILTY and was convicted on 16 of 24 counts involving of fraud, extortion and money laundering.  Obama purchased land next to his $1.6 million home in 2005 from Rezko’s wife.  The deal netted a profit for Obama worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Also, Obama had done legal work for Rezko, his contributor, in his slum landlord business. 

JEREMIAH WRIGHT: Wright was Obama's minister for 20 years.  Wright’s sermons and contentious public appearances included him shouting "God BLEEP America" and accused the government of creating AIDS.  Wright is a bigot and ask why Obama and his family would listen to him for so many years.

WILLIAM AYERS & BERNARDINE DOHRN: Today, Ayers is a university professor and a member of Chicago's intellectual establishment.  A Weather Underground member, a radical group that claimed responsibility for a series of bombings, including explosions at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol.  Ayers was a fugitive for years with his wife, fellow radical Bernadine Dohrn. Obama and Ayers, live in the same neighborhood and have served together on the board of a Chicago charity (the Annenberg Project), and in the mid-1990s when Obama first ran for office, Ayers hosted a meet-the-candidate session for Obama at his home.

EMIL JONES: Jones, the president of the Illinois Senate, amounts to Obama's political godfather and was an important part of Obama's longshot victory for U.S. Senate in 2004. He helped the little-known politician meet the right people, and he picked Obama to handle high-profile legislation during the two years leading up to the election.  Jones is known for steering state money to favored institutions, including some that employ his relatives. Several of his relatives have gotten state jobs, and his wife's government salary jumped 60 percent after he became Senate president. He has played an important role in blocking ethics legislation in Illinois.

RASHID KHALIDI:  Khalidi is a scholar and author on Middle Eastern affairs who has criticized Israeli policies and was part of a Palestinian advisory panel to peace talks in the early 1990s.  Obama also calls him a friend.  They met while both were teaching at the University of Chicago and living in the same neighborhood. Obama and his wife sometimes had dinner with Khalidi and his wife, Mona. The Khalidis hosted a political fundraiser for Obama in 2000, and the Woods Fund charity gave money to the Arab-American Action Network, run by Mona Khalidi, while Obama served on the charity's board.

MICHAEL PFLEGER:  Pfleger, the white leader of a mostly black Catholic parish in Chicago, has been known as a firebrand for years. He protests everything from gun shops to Jerry Springer. Obama has referred to him as a spiritual adviser.  Pfleger recently preached a sermon in which he mocked Hillary Clinton and accused her of expecting to win the presidential nomination because she was white.

MICHELLE OBAMA:  "For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback."

I couldn't agree more that taxpayer money shouldn't be spent on sorting out your twisted relationships.  But, when you put it out there, in writing, for all to see, get prepared to belly up to the bar my friend.  I take it you are the fem of your duo.

Vice Presidential Debate

It is rumored that if going into the debate the polls aren't too bad and Biden delivers an acceptable performance at the abovementioned Vice Presidential Debate, he will continue to be the vice presidential pick for the dems.

But, if the polls, prior and post debate, are unfavorable and Biden's performance is considered to be "a loser", the dems will announce that Biden must withdraw due to health reasons and will be replaced by Clinton.      

Interesting isn't it?  If Biden is replaced, can Billary pull it out for them within 30 days of the election?

As signed by President Clinton in 1998, QHWRA created the secondary financial mortgage markets...taxpayer backed and deregulated in one fell swoop.  The financial giants raped, pillaged and plundered every single person they could get their hands on.  Knowing full well, from the very beginning, these people would be thrown out into the streets.  This financial debacle was carefully created and executed.  Don't believe me?  Look it up!  There are thousands of articles about who created this mess but you want hear or read about it in mainstream media.

Public housing reform is represented through the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998 (QHWRA). QHWRA was signed by President Clinton on October 21, 1998 and is found in Title V of HUD’s FY1999 appropriations act (P.L. 105-276).

QHWRA is landmark legislation which will make public housing reform a reality by:

• Reducing the concentration of poverty in public housing

   

• Protecting access to housing assistance for the poorest families

   

• Supporting families making the transition from welfare to work

   

• Raising performance standards for public housing agencies, and rewarding high performance

   

• Transforming the public housing stock through new policies and procedures for demolition and replacement and mixed-finance projects, and through authorizing the HOPE VI revitalization program

   

• Merging and reforming the Section 8 certificate and voucher programs, and allowing public housing agencies to implement a Section 8 homeownership program

   

• Supporting HUD management reform efficiencies through deregulation and streamlining and program consolidation

Keeping in mind, the above bullet points;  The superficial purpose of President Clinton's public housing reform was to assist the impoverished, unemployed and unfortunate to achieve the "American Dream" of home ownership.  But in actuality, these very people were used as nothing more than pawns to place hundreds of thousands of dollars into predestined powerful and influential pockets, i.e., Countrywide, Bear Stearns, AIG, Merrill Lynch, etc. 

Here again!  Proposing "different" criteria for low-income buyers.  Lending money to people who can't, and never will, be able to afford it.  I'm not a rocket scientist...however, I know that if I lend money to someone who cannot pay it back...then it was never intended to be a loan at all.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has a plan that would help 900,000 households statewide qualify for federal loans to help them buy average-priced homes in the metropolitan area.

Clinton announced the proposed legislation yesterday at the New York Housing Conference in midtown Manhattan. Her proposal would relax the mortgage amount limits required for home buyers shopping for Federal Housing Authority (FHA) loans.

How We Ended Welfare, Together

TEN years ago today I signed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act. By then I had long been committed to welfare reform. As a governor, I oversaw a workfare experiment in Arkansas in 1980 and represented the National Governors Association in working with Congress and the Reagan administration to draft the welfare reform bill enacted in 1988.

Yet when I ran for president in 1992, our system still was not working for the taxpayers or for those it was intended to help. In my first State of the Union address, I promised to “end welfare as we know it,” to make welfare a second chance, not a way of life, exactly the change most welfare recipients wanted it to be.... On Aug. 22, 1996, after vetoing two earlier versions, I signed welfare reform into law.... The last 10 years have shown that we did in fact end welfare as we knew it, creating a new beginning for millions of Americans.

YES INDEED MR. AND MRS. PRESIDENT...

YOUR BACK-TO-BACK FAILED POLICIES OF WELFARE REFORM (1996) AND WALL STREET DEREGULATION (1998), HAVE MANAGED TO TAKE OUR MOST VULNERABLE CITIZENS, JERK THEM OUT OF THEIR HOMES AND THROW THEM RIGHT INTO THE STREET.

Did candidate (Obama) try to manipulate policy to later claim credit for ending war?

While touring Iraq in July and publicly calling for troop withdrawal, Sen. Barack Obama was reportedly trying in private to delay plans for an American draw-down until after the next president took office.

New York Post columnist Amir Taheri writes that he interviewed Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, who confirmed the Democratic presidential candidate met with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad to demand delay in the withdrawal of American forces.

"He (Obama) asked why we (Iraq) were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the U.S. elections and the formation of a new administration," Zebari reportedly said.

The column states that Obama insisted it was in Iraq's best interest to avoid an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

Such a position in private negotiations would be a stark contrast with Obama's public record on the issue.

"The best way to protect our security and to pressure Iraq's leaders to resolve their civil war is to immediately begin to remove our combat troops," Obama said last year at a university in Iowa. "Not in six months or one year – now."

In January of last year, Obama offered legislation on the floor of the Senate called the Iraq War De-escalation Act of 2007, which called for troop withdrawals to begin in May 2007 and to conclude by March 2008.

And in his New York Times editorial released the same month Senator Obama toured the Middle East, Obama wrote, "The call by Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki for a timetable for the removal of American troops from Iraq presents an enormous opportunity. We should seize this moment to begin the phased redeployment of combat troops that I have long advocated."

Taheri reported that Iraqi President Jalal Talabani's advisers wonder if Obama is privately working to delay troop withdrawal until after the election in order to claim credit – should Obama win the presidency – for ending the war.

"Indeed, say Talabani's advisers," reports Taheri, "a President Obama might be tempted to appropriate the victory that America has already won in Iraq by claiming that his intervention transformed failure into success."

The Obama campaign has not responded to WND's request for a response to the Post column.
