The Catholic Archibishop says that the Bodies Revealed exhibit is disrepectful.  Even an old heathen like me has to agree with that.  It's just gross...they were real people, not cutouts or models.  Eww.

Yes, but you also what to take into account that these are bodies that were donated, so these people made the choice to have this done to their bodies.

coava,

[these are bodies that were donated, so these people made the choice to have this done to their bodies.]

You're exactly right.

There is nothing disrespectful about this exhibit.

It is still gross. I remember one of the news people (either on Fox4 or Channel 5) that was excited to go see it. It kind of shocked me they said that...

[It kind of shocked me they said that...]

Someone showing excitement and interest about an exhibition of the human body "shocked you"?
May I ask why it shocked you?
I can understand people being grossed out by knowing what goes on inside their bodies, it can't be a pretty sight, but why be shocked if someone else shows interest?

I still would like to know why ClickChick agrees with this Catholic Archbishop person on the exhibit being "disrespectful".

If you think it's gross don't see it.

I personally am intrigued about this exhibit and thinks it will be interesting....

"The Catholic Archbishop says...." So, therefore it must be true?

I totally disagree with the Archbishop... Even so I'm "catholic" - We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

I don't think it's gross at all. I plan to donate my own body to science as well. They can do whatever they want with it after I’m done. Can’t take it with me.

I think this work is fascinating. The body is amazing – and I thank these people for donating their body so I can learn more about my own. There is nothing disrespectful about this exhibit. There is another exhibit that has a pregnant woman. Haven’t seen it – just heard about it.

I haven’t been yet – but, I’m also excited to go.

I think it is sick too and if any of you listen to the news these bodies was unclaimed bodies mostly from China.

When_hutton_talks it's usually wrong. The bodies in the kc exhibit were all donated. It's the exhibit in Chicago that is using unclaimed bodies.

The Catholic Archbishop said the Bodies Revealed exhibit was disrespectful right after he downloaded child porn.

Twenty2mondays-
Freaking hilarious!

I guess if you are dead you don't care about the temperature in the room. "What, it's cold in here!"

If it's the same or similar to the exihibit I saw in Vegas, I found it very interesting. It's quite amazing actually how our bodies are 'woven' together.
I personally would encourage someone to see the exhibit. Not for the squeemish though, I suppose...

I think it is nasty! There is no way I would go and see this. They didn't have to use real bodies in the first place.

Ignorant insults aside, I think it's disrespectful to the memory of any person to put them on display like a hunting trophy, donated or not, and certainly not when one was not given a choice in the matter.

I think the exhibit would make an excellent novel by Steven King. Can you just imagine what goes on after hours? Or what they might do if they escaped?

"...and certainly not when one was not given a choice in the matter."

The only person who can authorize his/her body being donated is that person. Family cannot authorize that. Not to mention, I bet you don't mind that people donate their bodies to medical schools? Or do you not go to the doctor? Some people (I'm in nursing school) are very interested in how the human body works. If it grosses you out, fine; but don't say it's wrong! They CHOSE to be on display!

The people used in the Chicago exhibit were not given a choice. I didn't say it was wrong, I said it was disrespectful.

Which one are you complaining about? The exhibit in Chicago or the one here? Your opening blog makes one think you're complaining about the KC exhibit. Further down, it gets a little blurry what you're trying to say.

My husband always says, should anything happen to me suddenly (I'm 48) then he is going to have me mounted, probably right here in the computer chair. Says he does not want to come home to an empty home !! NOW THATS FUNNY LMAO
