Breaking news that they fired Max, Tanna and everyone else.  Ky is a staple of Kansas City...we broke a guitar record together...Cars for Christmas.?  Charity work that they've done...all gone!  And when 102.1 fired them...didn't  that work out...they've changed formats a billion times.  What a boneheaded move by some suit at the top....CRAP!

KY is still here, Im listening to the Alcie Cooper show right now,

Max Tanna and gang were cool when I was in Highschool over 24 years ago, but now they are alot older than the stations target audience

I couldn't believe when I heard it. We need to band together again and bring them back to another station somehow. I was ticked when I found out. Supposedly the station is going to do something that Kansas City doesn't already have. As far as I'm concerned, 93.3, 95.7 96.5 and others all sound alike. We have several Christian stations, so what else are they going to try to bring us that hasn't been done before and scrapped?

But we don't have any good christian stations.

No, stations change formats all the time. I remember when 104 went country, 95 went oldies, and so many others that have changed too. Max and Tanna were so outdated that it was unbearable to listen to them.

I've been listening to 97.3 lately. I liked the music and when I started really listening to it, I realized it was Christian music. When did they change to Christian? Tuesday night we had it on all the way to my son's skating party and back and he never asked me to turn it off because he thought I was listening to one of the newer rock stations, so evidentally he liked the music as well!

My blog has been hijacked by christians. If you want to talk religion...start your own blog. This is about KY.

KY was cool back in the day but I was shocked when I seen how old they are, then that made me feel old!Old rockers are the best we crank it up the loudest. They will be missed, hopefully the music will stay the same.

I don't listen to that station at all, but I have heard of it. I heard about this last night on the news and think that is beyond messed up. You don't break up a fantastic pairing that's been going at it for 20+ years. They obviously enjoy doing what they do, so where's the problem? When yuo got a good thing going, keep going with it, don't drop it. Hopefully something will be done about this.

I checked the new format today. It's nothing we haven't already heard before. There was some icky 80's music on when I heard it. Don't get me wrong, I loved some of the 80's stuff, but they weren't playing the good stuff. Let's take bets on when it will change formats again!

I think that yes they made a good team for 20+ years but the run has to end sometime. You can't just keep something because it's been around for a long time...if they don't have the listeners that they did before maybe it's time to move on to something new.

Thanks Basehor, I did not know about 97.3...I hope it is something updated christian. I also heard that 102.7 was also christian now too.

Ok, I am way out of the loop on this one. However, I am in tune with who the DJ's in question are. So, will you, my fellow bloggers help me out? Why did they get let go? Is there a story on the coverage of this? If so, where can I read about it? I need to get in touch better with the news. As a military wife and mom, I am guilty of not watching the news like I should. For more reasons than that, I get tired of the Britney stuff and depressing news as well. So, please let me in on what's happening with these great DJ's!

you can find the story on www.kansascity.com they are changing the format. guess they couldn't compete with 101 the fox for classic rock listeners and decided kansas city wasn't big enough for 2 classic rock stations. guess it's big enough though to the type of music they are changing to. we will see. personally i hope entercom fails miserably with the change.
