I posted this blog sometime back, but since I didn't get any response to it,either Christians ignored it,or were too embarrassed to admit,"That's me!" Whatever their reason, here it is again........

I usually try to avoid this category. This section is usually fiiled with a bunch of,"Preaching to the choir",stuff. I thought I'd touch base on a little bit of everything here.
"The single greatest cause of athiesm in the world today,is Christians! Who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, and then walk out the door, only armed by their lifestyles. That is what an un-believale world simply finds.....un-believable!" Anyone know what that is from? It is a very true statement, indeed! It's from DC Talk's Free At Last Movie. The movie that had the song,"I wished we'd all been ready!"
Now, why would this person say such a thing? The person was a mentor to the guys in DC Talk. He said the statement, because it's true!
I have read a lot of your blogs, heard a lot of you at church preaching to each other! Building each other up. When was the last time that you really witnessed to a person that was lost? When was the last time you actually invited a lost soul to church?
So many of you preach the John 3:16, but forget about the John 3:17! Jesus came not to save the rightious, but call sinners to repentence! When there is a new person at your church,do you welcome the newcomer,or do you pass the guest on by,to go and talk to your clique of friends? John 3:17!!!
When witnessing to a lost person,do you talk their ear off, spitting out Bible verses, and not letting them, get a word in edge-wise? DO YOU LISTEN TO THEM???!!!
How about those lovely concept Christian t-shirts? Do you wear them in other places, other than church?John3:17!!!
What about the youth of today? Do you do nothing, but lecture them? Or do you actually listen, and get to know them?
The biggest thing that the outside world sees, is us attacking each other! You heard me! They see it everyday! Remember when Michael English cheated on his wife? The Bible book stores pulled his music off their shelves! And when Sandy Patty commited infidelity, nothing was done to her!
And whenever a Christian artist goes on mainstream radio, the church attacks those artists! And these artists really didn't change the premise of how they wrote their songs! Did Christ not say to bring the Gospel to the world? Not just to a chosen few! And for those of you who argue that they are selling out to the world, save your breath!
What about ministries that you don't agree with? Who made you the Siskel and Ebert of Christianity?
These are only a few examples of thing that the world, finds hypocritical....and unbelievable! What have you really done for the Kingdom of God? How well do you really represent the Body of Christ? If you say that you don't care how the world percieves you, you truly aren't a representitive of Christ! Because it does matter! That is a worldly viewpoint,if you think that!
If you do nothing more, than congregate on Sundays, preach a little, pray a little, and fellowship, then you have missed the whole reason why Jesus died on the cross, in the first place!!!
Church is not supposed to be a country-club. It's supposed to be a hospital, for sick and dying people(souls, too!!!)
Do a self-diagnostic of your spirit! How do you fit into any of this? And what can you do to change the perception of the world on Christians?
Pray about it!!!
And That's The Bottom line!!!

Why stop with Christians?

If one religion is right, they're all wrong.

I have as much power as the pope, just not all the believers.

Killing and religion go hand in hand. All religions. Protestants-Catholics Jews-Muslim
Muslim-Christian.

Humans invented religions so the religions have all the flaws of human nature. Theft, prostitution, pornography, corruption, + many more.

And if you don't like your Religion, feel free to start a new one..ie..Texas Polygamists, Arkansas child molesters.

Mormons have magic underwear. No joke. For proof: yahoo main page, keyword search: Mormon magic underwear.

I'd rather be an open sinner than a false saint.

So here I am, out in the open! LOL

You are a christian so you know... We are not some special breed of people. We are human and we make mistakes. There is hypocrisy everywhere, not just in the Christian church. Unfortunately you are right. It is christians who make the worst name for ourselves. Unfortunately there is plenty of crap the media and non-believers love to point out, and that is what you hear about most.
I am part of a small church, and we always welcome visitors one by one. My whole family loves to witness by wearing our christian themed shirts..a great way to start a conversation. My son was one of only 6 kids who showed up early for "prayer at the pole" yesterday. We are not afraid to pray over our meal when we go out, no matter who is looking. Leading by example, that's the best way I know to change the world's perception.

Yes, Chief Ironhorse, you are right. LindaLouH: you are right Christians are NOT perfect. We still make very bad mistakes and you will surely hear about those on the nightly news. It is very difficult to witness to a lost world when you are told how mean spirited and judgmental you are. At that point it seems like "casting our pearls before swine". Occasionally, you find someone who is truly seeking and the Holy Spirit has prepared their heart to hear the gospel (Good News). We should be praying for more of those opportunities, but many Christians cannot handle the verbal abuse they are usually confronted with. A lot of us have unsaved family members and although our hearts are broken to see someone we love reject the Lord we love, we are considered a religious fanatic if we say more than just a few words here and there. It seems best to say little and show love to them anyway.

I'm a Christian. I have a heart that seeks God. I am not perfect but I am forgiven. Your comments do not deserve a reply. How would you know about Christianity and Hipocricy? If you are not a Christian you don't have a clue as to where a Christian is coming from. I feel sorry for you and I'll pray for you. God Bless.

BusyBee and 2minikdz,
I am a Born-Again Christian,and have been since I was nineteen years old.I am thirty-four now.
You choose not to respond, because it hits on a very sore subject, that the Christian church, doesn't want to touch. Self-destruction! The shooting ourselves in the foot,so to speak.
I am not implying, nor did I imply, that Christians are perfect. But just like you, busybee,I am forgiven. I agree! But you didn't see my blog for what I was trying to say. The others, that replied respectfully, did.
mpvan and jpbikerfreak, are perfect examples of why we need to take a few steps back,do self-diagnostics of our walks, and present ourselves in the light, that Jesus did.
Do you preach the "Fire and Brimstone",and tell people what is wrong with them? Or do you tell them that you love them, and tell them what could be right with them?
Do you try to force feed the gospel down an unbeliever's throat? Or do you say with a smile,"God Bless You,I'll be praying for you!",and plant a seed for salvation? Big difference!
Leading by example,is the best way,as LindaLouH,pointed out. We need to listen to the world,as it pertains to us! How will we know, what to say to the lost,if we don't?
Sounds to me,that you two are afraid of being humbled.

Excuse me. I guess I didn't read into you blog the point you were trying to get across. Sorry. To be honest, Chief, I seldom look at the blogs anymore. My apologies for implying that you are not a Christian. I just read your blog wrong. I know you see "hyocrisy" in churches, but Chief, do you believe a TRUE Christian is a hyprocrite?? I'm talking about the Christian that has that one-on-one personal relationship with God; not the "Sunday Christian" or those who call themselves Christians but "the world" would never know they were a Christian. Even God's Word tells us that everyone who claims to be a Christian will enter the kingdom of heaven. We are to live our lives DAILY with a heart that seeks God. There will come a day when God will separate the sheep from the goats. I plan to be among His sheep and I believe you do to.
May God walk with us today and let us feel His presence with us all day long.

I do believe that Christians are hypocrits! But forgiven hypocrits, for those who truly walk with the Lord daily, not just in name only.
To not do self-diagnostics on our walks, and listen to the world, when it pertains to us,makes us prideful, and no better than the people we are trying to witness to.
True that the world nit-picks and attacks us,whenever they can. But some of the stuff that they say about us,is not entirely false.
Are we to examine our walks daily,or are we the,"Holier than thou"crowd, where we can't take constructive critisim?
Are we Christians supposed to be humble,or self-righteous hypocrits?

"chiefironhorse, you are correct! Hypocrits=christians. The ones who feel the need to have a big new chuch, espically. Like the bible says, turn over a rock, find me. Move a piece of wood, find me. Who needs the big new churches? If you belive, you can stay home just as easy. That is, if you have a deep down belief and dont need a pastor to tell you what to belive every Sunday!

LMAO as was said at the beginning of this blog. The first time no one replied, in which was probably the wiser of the 2 choices. Words hold different meanings and terminology for different people, cultures, and religions. Christian is one of those words

Hypocrites in my eyes are not limited to Christians. Every religion has their zealots. Granted, some Christians are nice and quite personable, as are some Catholics (and I know a few Muslims personally who actually tell me that the Islamic Quran actually forbids the actions of Al Qaeda and that their God Allah is the same God Christians and Catholics believe in). I also know some people who worship multiple Gods, with the Goddess of the Earth, Gaia, being their primary idol. Those people are zealots, too, but in a different way: Their religion is tree-hugging conservationism.

But, if you think about this for a second...Read the Bible and try to read between the lines. The history of Catholicism, Christianity, and Judaism are all traced back to Jesus himself, who was a Jewish carpenter. It was not until much later when the Romans adopted Catholicism, and Christianity was born from Catholicism by a renegade off-shoot religious group who disagreed with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

I remember my childhood days in church...The first book of Corinthians, chapter 6 verse 20 was something all the children in the church had to learn, but alas, my memory of those days is too vague to remember that verse.

The Christian church at Antioch (Acts) was actually started before the Roman Catholic Church. "Local" Churches were started in and arolound the area of Judea by Peter as Paul followed his calling to carry the message of Christ out to "all the nations." The term "Catholic" literally translated means "universal," and was used in all the churches begun by Paul. In his latter years, he settled in Rome where he became the first pope of the Roman Catholic Church which was also supported by the dozens of other churches that he had begun through his ministry. Eventually, they all became "branches" of his final church organization in Rome. The rest is, as they say . . .history.

1 Corintians 6:20 (had to be 1st Corinthians as 2nd Corinthians 6 only has 18 verses) read (and I'm paraphrasing:)

Your Spirit has been bought with a price[Christ's torture and death.] So honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.

Something we should all learn and adhere to.

You can't be a hypocrite if you don't believe in anything - a rather dismal outlook if you ask me. Personally, I'm happy trying to live by an objective set of moral beliefs - if I fail, oh well, at least I know that I'm forgiven!
