Miscellaneous ramblings.....

In a previous post I asked the question;

“Is the Catholic Church Pagan or Christian?” from what I understood from the posts by other readers I came to the conclusion that all of you feel that it is a Pagan religion in Christian clothing. But how can this be? With so many heads of Governments and peoples around the world who are members of it.

Now considering the Catholic Church’s history of torturing and killing those that did not believe, it makes sense, because Jesus Christ taught ;

1) Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

2) Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

3) Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.

4) Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

5) Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.

6) Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

7) Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.

8) Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

9) Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

10) Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Now I ask you this,

In the book of Revelations (17:1-3 and 19: 1-3, King James Version) John speaks of the “Great Whore”

Could the Great Whore of whom John speaks be the Catholic Church?

Comments?

Remember this dear reader, I am not accusing or pointing fingers, I'm just asking questions to become more enlightened, so please refrain from name calling or belittling me or those who post thier feelings or comments here on my blog.

Bloggers Note;

I guess not all the words in the Bible are fit to print here, so if you will please open your Bibles to the book of Revelations to the passages specified you will see "BOOGEDY" is not there.

LOL...Jeezebel...you mean, altered spelling for allowable content..
Um...I just don't know...let me ask you this, for a conversational perception...What is your thoughts on the possible link between the two?
I thought that the harlott (sp) was to be the one world "godless" "church"..
Just curious

twistersister... LOL, allowable content approved...

Well considering the events of the past along with the events of the present I am of the opinion that yes, I think it is.

Of course, that is just my opinion. I may be completly wrong, I guess if there is really going to be a time of judgement at the end of days, then we will see, if not......

Peace.

A thought provoking commentary that may support your perceptions terry...

I dunno..the one world "godless" church...could stem from the ideals that Rome and all the symbolistic hidden meanings behind it considering the historical friction and cultural clashes between Rome and Israel( or the world for that matter).
Hard to tell if we can strain out the "catholic church" from this passage and continue to elude that it has committed adultery with the world, however there are three thought provoking stances one may consider:
1. adultery in the bible when it comes to the conparitive of "His church" or the "bride" or "the world as a whole"...would insinuate that adultery with the world (ie giving yourself over to it fully involved in willful sins and such)would be committing it against God(the one lover of our souls)
In essence, since the Roman Catholic church has long made a man made doctrinal error in insisting that it's parrishiners "confess" their sins to a father(priest) and rely on his intercession to the Father in heaven(something Christ already does for us, and the father's praying for us and consequential pardon of our transgressions,(again, Christ has that job all wrapped up )
then one could see an instance where people have chosen a man(or worldlt doctrine) over God.
2.the cup statement further in the passage indicates that the golden is on the outside appearance and she is clothed in scarlet and purple..ie cardinals and purple possibly signifying royalty(ie pope highly regarded by all catholic beli

believing nations)..the cup being percieved as gold on the outside yet filled with abominations on the inside( need I go into detail on atoricities in the catholic priest and little children thingy)
3.The worship of Mary as mother god. Um nope.
Again...Am I outright agreeing that this is all the case with identifying the catholic church and the great protitute(sp)? No, not really..the truth is I don't really have an opinion on it yet..not a solid one.
The great you know what could be ANY religious movement on the planet that follows the attributes of the adulterous practice of worshipping entities other than God himself according to the passages mentioned throughout the New Testament.
I dunno and I don't have a solid answer, but here is info none the less to help others digest the post...=)

Thanks for your input twister. I went to the site you listed and read it. Very interesting reading. I have felt this way for many years concerning the Catholic Church. I have read the Bible many times and studied it deeply, but had never seen in print what was said on that site.

I know this subject might ruffle some feathers, it may even be so "insert correct word here" that many won't even dare to post a comment, because it affects so many people. But I think in light of all that has happened around the world, and more specifically within the Catholic Church, that it deserves some more thought.

What other Church in existence now, or in history has done the unthinkable acts in the name of Christ, and condoned or covered up as many wrongs as the Catholic Church?

As always, any comments on this subject are welcomed.

Peace.

Well I think we would have to look at the denominational level to find financial and borderline scandelous abuses...I was in the midst of the A/G church at their mecca of Springfield Mo's world hq for about 5 yrs when I just became so entrenched in watching the utterly disgusting monetary abuses and watching leaders(businessmen) get fat and churches get skinny.
All demoninations have skeletons because everyone is human...seems like people take the words of Paul and contort them:"Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything"
IE, I can have the whole world and do anything I want cause I am God's pet sheep and I am above reproach....that is equal to modern day Pharissee in my opinion.

WRONG..Sorry! Do not pass GO.. Do not collect my tithe thank you very much!
Then you have denoms that cater to rich, the upper crust and yet reject the common person...Ding ding ding....Welcome to my Big Fat Stupid Church.
I dunno...denominations and man made doctrines are my sore spot...so sore, I think I need aleve right now...and a diet coke.=)
