Are Catholics Christian or Pagan?

The Pope was created by the Roman Emperor Constantine so he could control the Christian masses. They pray to the Mother Mary, and Idolize the Pope.

So what are they?

A catholic once tried to explain this. She said that when you want something from someone you ask his friends and the ones closest to him to help convince him to help you. That is what they are doing to get favor from jesus, they talk to his mom and all his friends to get some support on the deal

This is why I am not catholic.. when I need something.. I go straight to the horses mouth.. The other way seems kinda tricky and back handed.

LOL mpvan, good one!

Biker, see my post in BeBLEEPed's thread. There is no logic in religion, by definition. No point in even having this faith section really IMHO.

I highly recommend a book, "The God Delusion" By Richard Dawkins.

I'm really getting a kick out of it.

Especially the part about cargo plane cults.

Great stuff.

Gotta run. The orbiting teapot is approaching the western sky, I must kneel to him.

Catholic's are in the broadest definition christian, as they believe Jesus is The son of God the Father, That He came to earth in the flesh was crucified, died, was buried and then three days later rose from the dead. All denominations have their flaws, which is why I attend only non denomination services. Even they have their flaws, organized religion is encouraged in the Bible, but it wasn't meant to divide. The real idea is that individuals have a personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus. All spirituality is based on faith, belief in the unseen. And a life after this one. My favorite bumper sticker read " I'm not a human being having a spiritual experience, I'm a spiritual being having a human experience".

It is just your humble opinion.... that and a $1.27 will get you a cup of coffee at waffle house.

Of course it's his opinion. Everything on this entire blog is someone's opinion. Do we have to start putting caveats on every single post now?

The Bible says to pray to the Father through Jesus Christ and no one else.

I beleive if you pray to anyone else that you are praying to a false GOD which the Bible says is wrong.

This is what the Bible says, and this is what I beleive.

If you have any other opinion than mine, I would love to hear it.

Just my beliefs

GOD Bless,
jerry

No matter what church you go to, and yes every church has their own agenda, each church believes that Jesus is the Christ and the Son of the living God and no one comes to Him except through Christ. If you are praying to someone other that God and Christ you are worshiping idols. the Ten Commandments Exodus 20-the First Commandment.

Wingman is correct here IMO. I believe there is a passage that states "No one comes to the Father except through me". I'm thinking this means there is only one intercessor.

It is my belief (simply my opinion people)that some early Christians were so eager to convert the "heathen/pagan/idol worshippers" that the original apostles were sort of incorporated in with the "heathen" gods so the "heathens" felt more at home with more than just one god to be reverent to. From there it sort of got out of control by paying tribute to and calling everyone who happened to be a good or martyred person a "saint" and thinking it was a good idea to have those people be their go-between. Morphing their idols into the Christian faith probably seemed comfortable to them.

Personally, I always thought it was weird to actually have a prayer to Mary or even invoke the help of these dead people. But again, this is just my opinion.

Self examination, is the whole reason for seeking a Higher Power (as 12 steppers refer to searching). Seek and you will find. Catholicism is the oldest state recognized Christian church and made some concessions with the state for being granted the privilege to hold open organized services. Organization, countries, corporations, denominations all behave just like people and have a natural if even an increased reluctance to look in a mirror and admit mistakes. To question those who came before us is also difficult, especially if it is a organization that we joined freely. To question our parents is natural as we learn who we are ourselves. To take steps that would public hold them accountable is even riskier, as it is truly a step towards independence and open criticism, imagine a incest victim coming forward and having a family member face serious jail time. Or a young child going to the school nurse and being honest about all the bruising. Fear of the future, is understandable without faith, and as mortal humans, we will always seek support.

I think the statement and the opinion is a load of crap. So, since JP has no use for it.. the rest of us need to wise up and they need to shut this whole thing down.

so how is that logic thing working for you?

What about the Aztec Sun God? The provider of all warmth and life to the planet. Plus you can see the thing, jeez...(pun intended) instant authentication there!

All those half naked godless souls of indians who kept such a good wrap on the enviroment made no mention of Jesus,
till the white Jesus based Christians came over and DEVELOPED their land, just about to the point of oblivion.

2min- you quote the Old Testament when it suits your needs, but I bet you 10 to 1 you, like every other Christian I encounter, would explain it away if I started throwing out some of the other stuff it says.

Jerry- the concept of the trinity is incomprehensible. They're 3 people. No, they're one. Nope, now they're 3. Well they're completely separate, but the same. Nonsense. It's a shell game.

And btw, how exactly do you decide WHICH accounts of Jesus' life to believe? There are NUMEROUS other documents written about his life (and the bible in general), yet they were not included in the bible for some reason.

Who made that decision, and how gave them the power?

GOD made the decision and GOD gave them the power of course.

I believe in the GOD of the Bible because it is His inspired word. True, there were other documents written so I hear, but they were not included in the Bible because they were not GOD inspired.

That is what I believe

King James of England LOL, I dont think so.

GOD Bless,
jerry
