Miscellaneous ramblings.....

Was anyone aware that May is Motorcycle Safety Month in Missouri?

It is a campaign led by the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety, whose members include the Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program (MMSP) and MoDot .

That must be why I keep seeing different M/C messages on the scout signs.

I found out from a Biker magazine thats printed in Colorado.

Have I been asleep or what? I haven't heard anything about it on the local media.

I was just wondering.

Peace.

didn't know it was safety month, but have seen the messages on the Scout boards. And yes, I think motorcyclists should be safe, as out my way (I-470--Lees Summit) they all seem to like to race by me at 75-80 mph. while I'm doing 65 mph.

Sign today read-Motorcycle awareness begins with you.
I didn't know that about it being awareness month. I had mentioned to JPbiker the other day about seeing that on Scout signs.

Yep, so what? I see idiots all the time driving way too fast in cars too.
My Momma used to say two wrongs don't make a right.

I agree though, you would think a person riding a bike that offers no protection & weighs less than 25% of a car. Might use a little better sense in lots of traffic.
Just saw two guys heading to Fuel last night on Metcalf @ 6PM. Both weaving in & out of lanes on Big Dogs or some other custom bike worth $$$$$. Both guys were old enough to know better! I like to have fun too, but not in two lanes of solid traffic.

Hey Biker Terry, you left out one important group of people. Freedom Of Road Riders have been a big sponsor of "MAY" MOTORCYCLES AND YOU MONTH for several years. We have a ride open to all motorcyles the last Tue. in April in Jeff City to present Proclamations from cities and counties to the Governor when he claims May as Motorcycle awarness month. And as far as those signs FORRĀ® was very instramental in getting those up. The past Chairman of FORRĀ® sets on the committee that helps in that decesion.
