A panel consisting of 41 members termed the Congressional Black Caucus voted unanimously for Burris to fill the vacant Illinois Senate seat. They plan on sending a letter to congress requesting Burris be seated. Could it be because he is black???
According to wiki: The
Congressional Black Caucus is an organization representing the
African American members of the
United States Congress. Membership is exclusive to African Americans (although not 100% blood quantium)
[1] and its chair in the
111th Congress is Representative
Barbara Lee of
California.
Wonder if they looked at anything else than skin color? Such as the condition in which he was appointed or qualification....
I have been hearing or reading that supposed anonymous McCain Campaign Aides are saying pretty childish things about the former VP Canidate. The claims include allegations that Republican lawyers were traveling to Alaska
to reclaim her high-priced wardrobe and that she didn't know Africa was
a continent. One report claims Palin even asked low level workers to put some of her clothes on their credit cards. I for one don't believe it nor do I believe she didn't know Africa was continent. Another accusation is she answered the door in a towel after taking a shower. Wow.... who cares? She was covered for one and if someone is that sensitive perhaps they don't belong in politics.
Another problem I have is the people making the accusations do not have enough backbone to step forward and face the woman head on. Instead they behind anonymonity. She denounced them as cowards.... I whole heartedly agree!
I will state I did not support her but I feel she has alot to offer in the future. Had she had the grooming Obama had and two or more years to prepare I feel the election would have turned out differently. I also feel nothing more but my undieng gratitude for McCain. He is a true American Hero, nuff said.

First off, I do not support Illegal's being here in the states but how can so many on this blog wish death upon them? Many who write these death wishes are pro-claimed Christians, which vexes me even more. Well, a week or so ago a 25 year old Illegal was stomped to death by GUESS WHO...... teenagers from a PA football team. Yes, kids. These kids picking up on the hatred of their parents. They kicked him in the head, stomped a cross necklace embedding it into his chest, and when passerbyers tried to help a retired police officer heard the teens screaming, "Go back to Mexico, racial slur or you'll be next." The retired police officer called police but it was to late. The young father of two was to die a day later from head trauma.
You can give me all the statistics in the world and I won't change my mind. NOBODY deserves to die this way or shot for crossing a border. Think just a little before you write such hate where yes teens can read it. You can say all day long that your child would NEVER do such a thing, but really people do you honestly believe these parents thought their children would kill?
What the hell happened to justice? I guess it doesn't matter if it gets in the way of your bank account. Just kill anyone you think is guilty in the street... its cheap. Is that what you all really want? Marshal Law.........
Who To Hate And How Much?

I have read all the hate filled blogs about Islam. So I wonder:
If we are to officially hate Arabs, do we only hate Islamic Arabs or should we also hate Arabs who are Christians?
If it is Islam, then are we to also hate Muslims in Africa? Or in Indonesia? How about Muslims who are American citizens? And, if so, should we hate White and Black Muslim Americans equally, or do African-American Muslims get a bye based upon how their forebears were treated?
We may have found a political port in which we have agreed that state-sponsored racism/bigotry is acceptable public policy. If this continues then we will be sailing into a great deal of troubled water in the years ahead.
Affirmative Action

To be honest, I will never fully understand the need for preferential treatment on the basis of gender or race in public employment and education. Could it be, my generation didn't see segregated schools, white only water fountains, slavery, or any of the other atrocities of previous generations. (and my generation is tagged as bad) Is it because I am young and believe we all have the ability to shape our own lives? Perhaps young and dumb? Overly optimistic? Whatever the reason maybe, I find it a slap in my face as a woman to be accepted to a school or employment opportunity simply for my DNA. Why should anyone be given something they do not deserve? Like buisnesses owned by a woman or minority get primary consideration for federal and state contracts. Are they best for the job? Guess it doesn't matter as long they have the right genetic make-up.
How long does this country have to pay back women and minorities? Obama has made clear that this nation needs some form of affirmative action to address the legacy of discrimination in America. Key word LEGACY. So when does the white male, the only one not helped by affirmative action become the minority? Will it be my generations LEGACY to oppress the white male until they march to the white house and demand rights? I mean they deserve to be oppressed. Their grandpa's grandpa's grandpa's oppressed me. So we should punish the future. How noble.
For the people who think it is only minorities that are poor, come on!!! Not a whole lot of white people live in the hood, nope they live in trailor parks. White children's daddys and mommys leave, white children go to bad schools, white children go hungry, white children are abused. Its not a race thing its a human thing!!! Its time for the race gender card to be put away. Its not 100 years ago nor is it 50 years ago nor is it even 10 years ago... Its today. Thank those who paved the way but make your life your own. Work for what you want and if you want something bad enough there is nothing in the world that can stop you. (unless you are a white male)

I have been out and about today in Blue Springs. Truth be told, I became a little upset. There are welcome back David Cook signs EVERYWHERE. I started thinking about how much media coverage he is getting and the soldiers, who REALLY deserve it, aren't getting any upon their return. I saw two different news vans and a chopper around the area. My blood boiled! A man or woman who places their life on the line to protect us, AMERICANS, deserves parades, news interviews, and the upmost admiration!!! It is a sad day for me when a man who sings recieves more praise than those defending his right to do so!!!!
Underminding The Constitution

The U.S. Constitution is a secular document. It begins, "We the people," and contains no mention of "God" or "Christianity." Its only refers to religion are exclusionary, such as, "no religious shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust", and "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". The separation of church and state is a wonderful thing. It keeps the majority from pressuring the minority. What if any religion had the right to impose thier views on all? America wouldn't be America! It would be a horrible place if the majority held the divine right to tyrannize the minority on matters of religion.
Many state the Constitution came from the ten commandments. Not so. Many cultures long before the commandments did not believe in homicide or to lie. It is a fact many fail to realize. If Americans honored the commandment against coveting, free enterprise would collapse! Think about that. I think it is the conservatives who advocate free trade who are also majorly Christian. Interesting!
The Declaration of Independence purpose was to deal with laws, taxation, representation, war, immigration, and so on. Its authority is based on the idea that our government is made up of men, supposedly getting their power from the consent of the people which is contrary to the biblical concept of rule by divine right. The statements to Nature's God, Creator, and Divine Providence in the Declaration doen't endorse Christianity. Thomas Jefferson the author was a deist opposed to Christianity and the supernatural.
Unlimited Power is Dangerous

We all want the freedom to do as we like, but few of us are committed to allowing others to act contrary to our notion of right and wrong. Majorities have always sought and often found ways to impose their views upon minorities. The most vocal minorities have often been successful in imposing their will on the majority. Who today expects a Constitutional fight over smoking, obesity, trans-fats, or any of the myriad personal issues now under the purview of government control?
America was founded on the belief that government power should be strictly limited, because the alternative to limited power was unlimited power. The framers of the Constitution were rightly concerned that without strict institutional barriers to the expansion of government powers there would eventually be no barriers at all. Power, in any form, longs to be absolute. Look now there are seemingly no limits on what government can regulate because we have accepted the notion that there are no limits to the benefits government can and should bestow upon us.
Americans have made a bargain with the devil. Dispensing with the idea of limited government in realm of benefits has meant dispensing with the idea of any limits to government power at all. Once we accept the notion that government should ensure that our pursuit of happiness succeeds, we have accepted the notion that government has the right to define what a happy life should look like. it is also the inevitable result of Americans increasing desire to have government guarante that more and more things in our lives turn out all right.
Limiting government power requires limiting the benefits that government can bestow upon us, and right now that seems a bridge too far for some Americans. It is the mentality the government owes us, we want it and we want it now. Perhaps they should listen to "ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country."
Just remeber "A government big enough to give us everything we want is a government big enough to take it all away." --- not sure who said this

I have heard of a person leaving this blog because of constantly being bashed for his beliefs. I have seen some of the name calling going on and I find it a disgrace to your intellect and adulthood as well. These are also the same people wondering why children are the way they are today. Well, children learn what they live. If adults are unable to control themselves and debate without completely sabotaging someone with vile remarks, why would we expect anything less from our children? People are able to say what they want, but dont whine when we see our children being just as vicious. Think about it before you respond and try to completely humilate me!!!
