I have been out and about today in Blue Springs. Truth be told, I became a little upset. There are welcome back David Cook signs EVERYWHERE. I started thinking about how much media coverage he is getting and the soldiers, who REALLY deserve it,  aren't getting any upon their return. I saw two different news vans and a chopper around the area. My blood boiled! A man or woman who places their life on the line to protect us, AMERICANS, deserves parades, news interviews, and the upmost admiration!!! It is a sad day for me when a man who sings recieves more praise than those defending his right to do so!!!!

I agree, BeStrong. He deserved some coverage but a whole day? The real American Idol should be the men & women in uniform who are protecting our way of life!

I saw on Fox4 that some idiot woman came from 1500 miles away to stand in front of Fox4 studios to wait for this Cook guy. Talk about a waste of money or gas. Even more idiotic if she flew in!

GET A LIFE PEOPLE!

I completely and wholeheartedly agree w/ all the comments here. I do want him to win, and I think it's great for him to represent our wonderful city, BUT for someone to fly in?! COME ON! As usual, they're going overboard again.

Same thing with pro athletes. If you can sing or play sports, you're golden.

You get your money for nutin' and your chics for free

Anyone who knows history, particularly the history of Europe, will, I think, recognize that the domination of education or of government by any one particular religious faith is never a happy arrangement for the people. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility. Eleanor Roosevelt
